Katarzyna
Zaremba.
Personal
statement.
I
relocated
to
England
from
Kuwait
a
year
ago
in
order
to
focus
on
my
educa:on
and
I
am
currently
studying
Art
and
Design
at
Undergraduate
level
at
Birmingham
City
University.
I
took
a
leap
of
a
faith
in
coming
to
Birmingham
on
my
own
knowing
that
I
had
no
family
members
living
in
the
UK
to
act
as
a
support
system.
This
experience
has
been
hugely
important
to
my
personal
development
as
I
had
to
learn
to
adapt
very
quickly,
to
assume
responsibility
and
become
self-‐reliant
in
an
unfamiliar
environment.
I
am
very
passionate
about
art
and
design
and
I
am
seeking
a
role
in
a
design-‐driven
environment
where
I
can
apply
and
further
develop
my
various
skills
in
art
and
design
and
learn
more
about
prac:cal
challenges,
innova:on
and
applying
design
thinking
to
real
world
problems.
I
am
also
eager
to
refine
my
people
skills
and
gain
exposure
to
interac:ng
with
co-‐workers
at
all
levels,
team
building,
problem
solving,
self-‐
mo:va:on
and
improvement.
Hobbies
and
Interests.
Prior
to
re-‐loca:ng
to
Birmingham
to
concentrate
on
my
studies,
I
ran
a
fashion
and
beauty
blog
in
Kuwait,
in
which
I
focused
on
voicing
my
opinion
on
the
plethora
of
new
trends
and
exis:ng
classics.
This
not
only
helped
me
further
develop
my
personal
style,
but
also
reached
out
to
many
readers
who
became
interested
in
my
unique
perspec:ve.
Whilst
in
Kuwait,
I
also
turned
my
hobby,
crea:ng
handmade
jewellery,
into
a
small
distance
selling
business.
This
was
especially
challenging
as
Kuwait
was
a
place
with
very
limited
resources
and
opportuni:es
for
such
a
small
range
business,
however
it
quickly
became
very
successful.
Both
experiences
allowed
me
to
learn
to
gain
exposure
through
the
use
of
social
media
and
aMrac:ve
branding.
I
am
also
interested
in
music,
as
I
used
to
play
the
clarinet
in
the
school
band,
which
allowed
me
to
become
a
part
of
a
team
and
learn
to
overcome
any
fears
of
being
put
on
the
spot
in
front
of
hundreds
of
people.
