Peer Leader 2013, 2014
Selected specifically to take part in facilitating the fall introductory freshman course for all
new Lee students. As a peer leader I taught, 15-20 students for a semester to better prepare
them for college life.
Teaching Assistant Practicum 2014, 2015
TA for Modern Western Culture under the direction of Associate Professor of Humanities,
Dr. Mary McCampbell. As a TA, I was responsible for grading, leading review sessions, and
teaching the class twice per semester. Spring 2014, Spring 2015.
Research Assistant 2015-2016
As a research assistant, my primary objective is to compile, organize, and present
supplementary research for the director of York University's Graduate English department,
Dr. Marie-Christine Leps. So far, I have completed research in the following areas: Genocide
(1939 - present day), PhD programs in Canada and internationally, and world literature in the
1920s. This research has been instrumental for academic presentations, departmental
evaluation, and the formation of undergraduate courses. Fall 2015-Fall 2016

C AMPUS INVOLVEMENT AND LEADERSHIP
Humanities Coalition, co-president 2011 – 2015
The Humanities Coalition is an organization dedicated to the betterment of the Lee
University student body through extracurricular academic pursuits. Meetings include
engagement with a philosophical writing or work of art and discussion of its larger
philosophical and practical implications. As co-president, I am partially responsible for
the organization of these meetings and leading discussion.
Student Leadership Council, cabinet member 2011 – 2015
The SLC is a service-oriented group, set up much like a student governing body, which
seeks to develop students to help the Lee Campus prosper. I was a senate member from
2011-2013, and a cabinet member from 2013-2015. The organization allowed me to
pursue leadership positions in several different atmospheres. The following are events
in which I helped organize while on the council:
Urban Outreach: Participated in and led service outreach trips to urban areas.
Planned for weekend service opportunities, food, and overnight lodgings for groups
of 10-25 students in Knoxville, Nashville, Chattanooga, and Dalton. Nov. 2011, Jan
2012, Nov. 2012, Jan. 2013, Nov. 2014, and Jan. 2015.
Student Leadership Development Conference: A two day conference for student
leaders across campus. Assisted in developing themes and discussion topics, as well
as facilitating small groups for the conference. Aug. 2011, Aug. 2012, Aug. 2013, and
Aug. 2014.
Focus Leadership Conference: A one day conference for student leaders across
campus. Assisted in developing themes and discussion topics as well, as facilitating
small groups for the conference. Jan. 2011, Jan. 2012, Jan. 2014, and Jan. 2015.

Service Saturday: A mass service day organized to get students active and plugged in
to service projects going on the city.
Great Strides Fun Run and 5K: The South’s largest cystic fibrosis fundraiser that is
organized by Lee Staff and Students. As a member of the SLC, I was able to take a
lead in organizing volunteers to help with activities on the day of the event. Apr.
2012, Apr. 2013, Apr. 2014, and Apr. 2015.
Summer Honors Resident Assistant 2013, 2014
I participated in a two week summer program that invites honors high school seniors
and juniors to Lee University for a two week classroom/campus experience. As a
Resident Assistant I had the privilege of mentoring and developing ten girls as well as
introducing them to life at Lee.
Big Pal Little Pal 2012 – 2013
BPLP is a service organization which works with underprivileged children at local Boys
and Girls Clubs. As a member of Big Pal Little Pal, I acted as a mentor to one child and
tutor for 25-30 children.
Black Lives Matter Movement 2014 – 2015
This movement was formed in order to raise awareness of and protest American
police brutality. Involvement included working with the Lee University Diversity
Council to organize discussion forums and non-violent protests.
