On May 28, 2022, local Aurora artist Ray Real will be releasing
his first self-produced album titled Gemini. The album will
include Real’s song Bliss that currently has over 15,000 streams
on the music platform Spotify. A point of interest for Bliss is
that it features a sample of Billy Eilish’s debut song Ocean eyes.
An Aurora native Ray Real, whose real name is Raymond
Forbes, has been creating his music since 2005 when he was
still under his former name of Double R The Boss before finally
taking up his current stage name of Ray Real in 2014. A hip-hop
artist and rapper, Ray real has a rhythmic rapping style that has
most recently been compared to the style of Logic. Ray Real has
been able to showcase his rapping style alongside that of Alicyn
Nichole, who is also his niece. Other accomplishments include
opening for Twista, Tech N9NE and MGK.
Having established his ability to perform over the years Ray has
toured to numerous bars and clubs throughout Illinois and
Wisconsin, including notable stops at The Abby in Chicago that
was featured on the television series “Bar Rescue” and The
Rave in Milwaukee.
To celebrate both the Release of Gemini and his birthday the
following day, Ray Real is hosting and performing at Gemini’s
release Party on May 28, 2022, at Pub 34 located in Sandwich,
Il.
