Culture shock refers to the physical or emotional discomfort one experiences when moving to a new country with a different culture. There are typically four stages of culture shock: 1) Honeymoon stage, where everything is new and exciting; 2) Crisis stage, where differences cause frustration and negative feelings; 3) Recovery stage, where one learns to accept the new culture; and 4) Adjustment stage, where one feels fully comfortable in the new culture.
