CSEEIP and CDMS, Library Rules & Regulations
1. All the registered members of CSSEIP and CDMS are free to use the Library. Others from JMI can
also use the library against their valid JMI Identity card
2. Library timing is from 10 :00 am to 5 :00 pm.
3. Library circulation timing is from 10:00 am to 4.00 pm.(lunch time 1:00 to 2:00 PM) in all working
days except Friday
4. Friday Library circulation timing 10:00 am to 4:00 pm (Namaz break time 12:00 to 2:30 PM)
5. Students must carry their identity card with them whenever they enter the CSSEIP and CDMS
Library, failing which, entry shall not be allowed and can only be permitted by the librarian on
specific written request.
6. Every person who enters the library shall sign the gate register available at the library entrance before
entering and leaving the library. Such a signature will be taken as an acknowledgement that the
person agrees to abide by the library rules.
7. Users are requested not to write or mark or otherwise disfigure and damage books, furniture and
other library material. In case of any damage done, the person responsible will be punished as per
CSSEIP and CDMS, LIBRARY rules and also required to replace the article damaged or pay its
replacement cost.
8. Two Books will be issued to the students for a period of 02 days. It can be reissued for another 02
days.
9. Three Books will be issued to the faculty members/staff for a period of 15 days. It can be reissued for
another 15 days.
10. XEROX/photocopied reading material if any with the prior permission of the Director can be issued
for overnight only after 4:30 PM. It will be returned within one hour from the opening of the Library
otherwise Rs. 5/- will be charged per hour
11. If a book is not returned before or on due date, library shall charge a fine of Rs 5 per day(per book)
12. In case a user is found to be a habitual defaulter (not following library rules) his/her, library
membership may be cancelled.
13. A NO DUES certificate will be issued only after receipt of all the books borrowed from the library or
a proper settlement to the complete satisfaction of librarian/CSSEIP and CDMS, Library Staff.
14. Members shall keep the library informed of any change of address during the period of his/her
Membership.
15. Conversation, talking, sleeping, smoking, loitering and use of mobile phones shall not be allowed in
the library.
16. The loss of Library book (s)/material should be reported to the library immediately.
17. All members and the library staff are required to observe complete silence inside the library.
18. Users shall be responsible for the security of their cash and other valuables.
19. Users are instructed to keep their mobile phones switched off while entering and using the library.
20. Users should keep Magazines, Journals and Newspapers in their respective places after reading.
21. Users are not to shelve the books taken out by them for consultation. They should instead, either
hand them over to the Library staff on duty or place them on the tables.
22. In case of unavailability of any required book the book can be reserved in book reservation register
available at the circulation counter.
23. Librarian may revoke books in demand before the expiry of the loan period and the period of issue
too may be shortened in such cases.
24. For renewing, it is necessary that the book to be presented at the counter.
25. If a member loses a book, the penalty will be as follows: Immediately, inform the Librarian in written
before/on, due date. Within l0 Days from due date, he/she will have to replace the lost book. In
addition he/she will pay a fine of Rs. 50/- in failing, He/She must also pay the late fine till the date,
book is replaced.
26. If the book is not easily available in the market, then the loser would pay double the current cost of
the book plus a fine of Rs. 100/- within l0 days from due date, otherwise till the date of replacement
of book, late fine will also be charged.
27. Reserved library material (reference books/periodical/reports etc) if any with the prior permission of
the Director can be issued for overnight only after 4:30 PM. It will be returned within one hour from
the opening of the Library otherwise Rs. 5/- will be charged as per hour.
28. The daily newspaper cannot be taken out of the library.
29. Members are advised not to be indulge in any arguments with the Library Staff and maintain
complete silence in the library.
