So our President (and very humble leader) Mike Chisum, did NOT want
this page included in this piece. However, the staff overruled….
In Mike’s prior life, he traveled the golf pro circuits as Director of Player
Relations for Titleist and Footjoy. His job was to build
player relationships, and he did it very well! Mike has
personal relationships with players, Tour leaders,
equipment and apparel companies, tournament
directors, television networks, and celebrities.
Mike has traveled to EVERY Tour city and
understands unique traditions, cultures, and
opportunities at each tournament venue. He
can offer “inside the ropes” perspective and
knowledge of unique, “backdoor” branding
and hospitality opportunities unlike no other.

The Client
An international telecommunications and technology
company that has customers in over 80 countries
world-wide.*
The Task
The client hosted an annual golf tournament
featuring key clients and employees. Their
internal staff handled all operations for this event,
working with numerous vendors for various needs,
ranging from operational support to apparel and
gifts. Chisum Sports approached the client to
become their exclusive, turnkey agency for all of
their behind-the-scenes needs for this specific
tournament.
*For confidentiality purposes, the client requested their name
not be used in public documentation.
The Result
Chisum Sports seamlessly (yet invisibly) integrated into the client’s event team, bringing in
all services and products under one umbrella, at a price that was significantly less than
what the client was previously paying. In addition, Chisum Sports brought new concepts
and fresh ideas to the event that materially enhanced the customer experience.
Subsequently, the client asked Chisum Sports to develop a strategic, year-round, golf-
centric business-building platform, which ultimately included securing a prominent PGA
Tour player as a Brand Ambassador for the client. This included the player wearing the
client’s logo on Tour, being available for the company’s private events with their most
important customers, and providing unique merchandising opportunities.
Additionally, Chisum Sports spearheaded VIP trips to all four Major Championships for the
client, including all hospitality, lodging & transportation, off-site golfing, player & celebrity
appearances, clubhouse badges, and other priceless experiences which other agencies
typically do not have access to.
The Client
A Texas-based financial institution, with nearly 40
branches throughout the state.*
The Task
With the client having a regional footprint,
Chisum Sports was asked to develop a Texas-
based, golf-centric platform that would provide
unique customer experiences in several
markets throughout the state.
*For confidentiality purposes, the Client requested
their name not be used in public documentation.
The Result
Chisum Sports developed a turnkey hospitality package
at the five Texas-based PGA Tour events that provided
the client a unique, VIP platform at each of these PGA
tournaments for their key customers. Some of the
priceless experiences included:
•	 Breakfast	with	a	2-time	Major	winner
•	 Lunch	at	the	tournament	driving	range	with	the	
defending tournament champion
•	 Dinner	on-site	with	a	Top	40	Tour	player
•	 Golf	at	an	off-site	location	for	twenty-four	guests,	
featuring four PGA Tour pros
•	 A	unique	Caddy	Experience	during	the	tournament	
practice rounds
•	 PGA	Tour	experience	event,	featuring	a	private	tour	
of the TaylorMade official trailer
•	 CBS	Behind	the	Scenes	broadcast	tour
•	 Happy	Hour	at	the	host	hotel	featuring	PGA	Tour	
player appearances
•	 Daily	Meet	&	Greets	with	PGA	Tour	players	in	a	
private, on-course hospitality suite
•	 Daily	VIP	tournament	access	with	on-course	
hospitality
•	 Arrival	and	departing	gifts	in	guest	rooms,	custom	
itineraries, and full transportation services
•	 Luxurious	home	rental	adjacent	to	the	course,	
featuring all VIP amenities as well as private dinner
one night with a PGA Tour champion

The Client
Based in Stamford, Connecticut, United Rentals is
the largest equipment rental company in the world,
with nearly 900 locations in North America and $6
billion in sales annually.
The Situation
As	a	massive	B2B	company,	United	Rentals	internally	
determined	in	2013	that	the	PGA	Tour	might	be	an	
ideal platform to expose their brand to key decision
makers, as well as entertain their top clients.
The Result
United Rentals engaged Chisum Sports to create an introductory
platform associated with the Tour, which included Brand
Ambassadorship of a player. This quickly expanded into further
utilization of the player for unique entertainment experiences,
as well Chisum Sports securing additional PGA Tour players for
similar purposes.
Chisum Sports also created, developed and managed a very
unique private tournament for United Rentals and their clients,
and thereafter provided exclusive representation on behalf of
United Rentals in the negotiation of a sponsorship with the PGA
Tour, which ultimately resulted in United Rentals becoming an
official sponsor of the PGA Tour as their official Equipment Rental
Supplier on a multi-year basis.
TheClient
The New Orleans Hornets (now the
New Orleans Pelicans), who had been
forced to relocate to Oklahoma City
after Hurricane Katrina devastated the
Crescent City.
The Task
Chisum Sports Vice President John Alper,
while working for another agency, was
engaged by the NBA and the Hornets to
secure a foundation of major long-term
sponsorship commitments in order to return
the team to New Orleans.
The Result
Despite a challenging environment
at the time in New Orleans, Alper
worked closely with the NBA and the
Hornets organization to create an
action plan, aggregate sponsorship
assets and develop a tiered
hierarchy of sponsorship levels.
In just over a year, eleven major
long-term partnerships were
secured, generating more than
$26	million	cash	in	contractually	
obligated income over a five-year
period, providing the Hornets the
financial stability, from a sponsorship
perspective, to return to home.

The Client An international telecommunications and technology company that has customers in over 80 countries world-wide.* The Task The client hosted an annual golf tournament featuring key clients and employees. Their internal staff handled all operations for this event, working with numerous vendors for various needs, ranging from operational support to apparel and gifts. Chisum Sports approached the client to become their exclusive, turnkey agency for all of their behind-the-scenes needs for this specific tournament. *For confidentiality purposes, the client requested their name not be used in public documentation.

The Result Chisum Sports seamlessly (yet invisibly) integrated into the client’s event team, bringing in all services and products under one umbrella, at a price that was significantly less than what the client was previously paying. In addition, Chisum Sports brought new concepts and fresh ideas to the event that materially enhanced the customer experience. Subsequently, the client asked Chisum Sports to develop a strategic, year-round, golf- centric business-building platform, which ultimately included securing a prominent PGA Tour player as a Brand Ambassador for the client. This included the player wearing the client’s logo on Tour, being available for the company’s private events with their most important customers, and providing unique merchandising opportunities. Additionally, Chisum Sports spearheaded VIP trips to all four Major Championships for the client, including all hospitality, lodging & transportation, off-site golfing, player & celebrity appearances, clubhouse badges, and other priceless experiences which other agencies typically do not have access to.

The Client A Texas-based financial institution, with nearly 40 branches throughout the state.* The Task With the client having a regional footprint, Chisum Sports was asked to develop a Texas- based, golf-centric platform that would provide unique customer experiences in several markets throughout the state. *For confidentiality purposes, the Client requested their name not be used in public documentation.

The Result Chisum Sports developed a turnkey hospitality package at the five Texas-based PGA Tour events that provided the client a unique, VIP platform at each of these PGA tournaments for their key customers. Some of the priceless experiences included: • Breakfast with a 2-time Major winner • Lunch at the tournament driving range with the defending tournament champion • Dinner on-site with a Top 40 Tour player • Golf at an off-site location for twenty-four guests, featuring four PGA Tour pros • A unique Caddy Experience during the tournament practice rounds • PGA Tour experience event, featuring a private tour of the TaylorMade official trailer • CBS Behind the Scenes broadcast tour • Happy Hour at the host hotel featuring PGA Tour player appearances • Daily Meet & Greets with PGA Tour players in a private, on-course hospitality suite • Daily VIP tournament access with on-course hospitality • Arrival and departing gifts in guest rooms, custom itineraries, and full transportation services • Luxurious home rental adjacent to the course, featuring all VIP amenities as well as private dinner one night with a PGA Tour champion Austin, TX San Antonio, TX Houston, TXFort Worth, TX Las Colinas, TX
  • 17. The Client Based in Stamford, Connecticut, United Rentals is the largest equipment rental company in the world, with nearly 900 locations in North America and $6 billion in sales annually. The Situation As a massive B2B company, United Rentals internally determined in 2013 that the PGA Tour might be an ideal platform to expose their brand to key decision makers, as well as entertain their top clients.
  • 18. The Result United Rentals engaged Chisum Sports to create an introductory platform associated with the Tour, which included Brand Ambassadorship of a player. This quickly expanded into further utilization of the player for unique entertainment experiences, as well Chisum Sports securing additional PGA Tour players for similar purposes. Chisum Sports also created, developed and managed a very unique private tournament for United Rentals and their clients, and thereafter provided exclusive representation on behalf of United Rentals in the negotiation of a sponsorship with the PGA Tour, which ultimately resulted in United Rentals becoming an official sponsor of the PGA Tour as their official Equipment Rental Supplier on a multi-year basis.
  • 19. TheClient The New Orleans Hornets (now the New Orleans Pelicans), who had been forced to relocate to Oklahoma City after Hurricane Katrina devastated the Crescent City. The Task Chisum Sports Vice President John Alper, while working for another agency, was engaged by the NBA and the Hornets to secure a foundation of major long-term sponsorship commitments in order to return the team to New Orleans.
  • 20. The Result Despite a challenging environment at the time in New Orleans, Alper worked closely with the NBA and the Hornets organization to create an action plan, aggregate sponsorship assets and develop a tiered hierarchy of sponsorship levels. In just over a year, eleven major long-term partnerships were secured, generating more than $26 million cash in contractually obligated income over a five-year period, providing the Hornets the financial stability, from a sponsorship perspective, to return to home.
