Crowdsurfing for Twin Startups Project story
1. Hi everybody!
We’d like to tell you something about our eTwinning project.
Basically, it consists in developing 9 start-up ideas and presenting them on a website with
the final objective of getting “crowdfunding” from the school community, and from our
families and friends as well.
We are 40 16-17-year-old students: 18 Spanish students from the Instituto de Educación
Secundaria Escultor Juan de Villanueva from Pola de Siero and 22 Italian students from
Istituto Tecnico Oriani from Faenza.
Our story together dates back to last October, when we inaugurated our Twinspace by
introducing ourselves on it.
Then, we selected 9 business ideas from a range of 19 and we made up the 9 mixed
teams.
And this is when our real work together started!
We made our choices about each company name and logo and each product logo. Here
are our ideas:
The following step was to develop our ideas carefully. That meant thinking everything
through and creating a workable plan, so understanding WHY our ideas could be
WINNING ideas for the market

2. Developing all details, such as sketches, budgets, prototypes, advertising tools, the
fictional currency to be used (which is called RISI), the reward systems for our backers,
the forms where people could pledge their risis, the videos, and finally the website of each
business idea
This is where we are now. What will follow? Well, we’re going to start pledging funds for
our start-ups by publishing our website on our school websites so that teachers and
students can collaborate, and by involving everybody we know: familIes and friends.
Now, we want to let you know HOW we have worked together.
We’ve used everything on our Twinspace, so we’ve uploaded our materials and we’ve
communicated in the FORUM space.
We’ve inevitably needed other ways to keep in touch, so we’ve used Whatsapp, Google
Drive, Gmail.
And we’ve used so many software programs, webapps and platforms which have helped
us develop our ideas and work collaboratively, such as:
• PIRATEPAD to simultaneously edit a text document
• SKETCHUP to create prototypes
• POWTOON to create videos
• PADLET to share materials
• CANVA to design graphics
• SPARK to create animated videos
As you can imagine, this project has given us SO MUCH because we have
• Made new friends
• Improved our communicative skill in English AND our digital competence
• Developed our teamworking AND problem solving skills
• Turned ideas into action
• And Understood that we DO have entrepreneurial potential
