Crossroad Films Shooting Review - 22nd November 2016charliequirk16
Today's film shoot for Crossroad Films went well overall, though there were some challenges with weather and travel time. Positives included an absence of distractions during filming, careful equipment management, and taking shots twice. However, morning rain delayed setup and traveling between locations tired the filmmakers. While filming went as planned, the time spent commuting was identified as negatively impacting energy levels and progress.
Crossroad Films Shooting Review - 11th November 2016charliequirk16
The document summarizes a shooting review for Crossroad Films. It notes both positives and negatives from the shoot. Positives included being time efficient, resourceful, and determined. Negatives were public distractions, cold weather, and shots lacked variety. The summary concludes by saying it was the first of four shoots and looks forward to improving at future shoots by being more adventurous with shots.
Crossroad Films Shooting Review - 15th November 2016charliequirk16
Today's shoot went well with few problems. Two locations were used successfully - a garage for scenes with The Gripwell Killer and a small office for Detective Foster. Attention to detail, like case notes in the office, was paid. Both shoots were completed in a single efficient day. The only distraction was occasional interruptions, but focus was maintained. Compared to the previous shoot, isolated locations and consideration of props helped make the scenes feel more organic and the shoot more successful overall.
The document discusses conventions for film posters, including placing the main image in the middle, including the release date, credits, company logo, title of the film, information about the film, and slogan. It also notes that the film company Crossroad Films plans to use the title of their film "Crook" prominently on the poster, as well as including a slogan and potential release date, to help audiences remember the film and be informed of its release. They will also include their company logo on the bottom right corner of the poster.
Two filming locations are described for the CrossroadFilms project. Detective Foster's office was filmed at Smith's Wood Sports College. The garage where scenes featuring the Gripwell Killer took place was filmed at the home of Charlie. Photos of both locations are provided and the document indicates they suited the film trailer well and were successfully used for filming without issues.
The document discusses conventions for magazine front covers and proposes elements to include on the cover for "Crooks Magazine". It recommends:
1) Using high-quality photos of the main characters from their film "The Gripwell Killer" prominently in the center of the cover.
2) Including their film's slogan "This time it's personal" as a marketing tool.
3) Directly addressing the audience to entice them to read the magazine, which is the purpose of the front cover.
Me and Charlie have been editing the Crook trailer using footage from filming sessions, putting the footage in the correct position and removing unnecessary parts while adding fade ins and outs. They still need to do one more filming session on Tuesday to get all the footage needed to finish editing the trailer, which will then be uploaded to the Crossroad Films YouTube page shortly after to show an early version.

This document contains a sketch for a magazine front cover. The sketch depicts a person in a crouched position with their back turned, implying some sense of dishonesty or wrongdoing. In only 3 words, "Crook" is written below the sketch, directly labeling the subject of the image. The document appears to be presenting an idea for a magazine cover focusing on topics related to crime, deception, or corruption.
Crossroad Films Shooting Preview - 22nd November 2016charliequirk16
Crossroad Films is preparing for their final day of shooting tomorrow. They will be filming scenes inside Detective Foster's home where he discovers his murdered family. Only a few props like keys, a phone, and laptop case will be needed. While rain is forecast, the indoor shoot will not be affected. They will film a range of shots according to the shot list to create the best possible trailer, then enter post-production to edit the footage.
The author learned several important lessons from filming shoots for their crime trailer "Crook". They learned the importance of patience when dealing with obstacles like members of the public passing by or waiting for background noise. They also learned to double take shots to limit errors and have a variety of footage to choose from in editing. Finally, they learned to pay close attention to detail, like keeping a character in the same position between shots. Through these shoots, the author gained experience that will help them improve future productions.
The combination of the main film Crook and its ancillary products of a poster, magazine cover, and trailer were effective in establishing a brand. All three products featured the main characters from the film and used consistent font and coloring for the film title. A blood red color was used throughout to convey the film's tone. The production company logo was included on the poster and trailer to promote the brand. Consistent inclusion of the actors' names helped familiarize audiences with the cast. Credits were used across all products to provide information to audiences. The linking of these elements helped create a cohesive brand identity for the film.
The document discusses the various digital tools and technologies used during the research, planning, production and post-production stages of creating a trailer titled "Crook". These included Prezi, Emaze, Edublogs, Survey Monkey, Goconqr, cameras, SD cards, YouTube, PCs, Macs, mobile devices, Sony Vegas and Photoshop. Different tools were used for tasks like research, audience surveys, documentation, file storage, editing, and creating marketing materials. Physical equipment like cameras and SD cards were used to film footage for the trailer.
The document describes the progression and improvements made to a poster and magazine front cover over multiple versions. For the poster, credits were added, a logo was included, the title was redesigned, and the overall structure was changed based on feedback to improve it. For the front cover, more details were added, the title was redesigned, and the color scheme was changed to black, red, and white to better represent the dark tone of the film being promoted. The revisions enhanced the professionalism and visual representation of both pieces.
The document discusses how the media product uses, develops, and challenges conventions of real crime thriller films and their trailers, magazines, and posters. It analyzes how the genre, mise-en-scene, music, themes, and locations both follow and subvert crime film conventions. Regarding trailers, it uses conventions like titles, music, and key moments but challenges the voiceover. The magazine cover uses conventions like the masthead and buzzwords but develops the film title. Finally, the poster uses conventions such as credits, logos, film titles, release dates, and slogans found in real media posters.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
