Objective:

• To develop the web site which enables
crime investigators to communicate with
each other securely and update the
current status of crime


Description
The Investigator Report provides a full range of detective case
management functionality.
It can handle an unlimited number of Cases. The application
provides case management, billing, date tracking, and
calendaring from a single repository.
Maintain case details and motions in a single location. Identify
noteworthy items for quick retrieval or search by events and
individuals to view perspectives and relationships that might
otherwise go unnoticed.
Track Vital Information - When the number of Cases increases,
chances are you don't know the cases status completely. The
Investigator Report will help to: Maintain and print case facts,
objects, dates, questions, people, property, letters and comments.

Benefits of the Project
 It is the Citizen who is benefited a lot through Investigative
Progress In the manual System, registration of FIR was not
done 100% accurately for various reasons.
 Certain mandatory information needed was also not
collected either the complainant furnished vague
information or much thought was not given to the
importance of the information which would have helped
later in speeding up the investigation process.


 The System’s insistence for certain mandatory information at the
time of registration of complaint automatically improved the
responsiveness of the Police and in turn is building up
sensitivity. Once a complaint is registered, it is electronically
transferred to the higher authorities. Consequently, the scope for
failure such as non-acceptance of a complaint, loss of track of
case, etc are totally eliminated.
 The transparency in the system helps in enhancing public
interface and confidence. It is assisting in expediting the
progress of investigating process culminating in dispensing
timely justice and ultimately bringing the criminal activity under
control.


Benefits to the Organization:
 1. Crime – analysis guides the Investigating Officer on the right
track. Data available and analyzed information from the system
enables a new comer to get vast information with least delay and
allows him to plan and settle down in his work at the earliest.
 2. The present system insists for systematic collection of data
without missing the important details. Documents are seen by
supervisory officials. The senior officers are in a position to keep
track of all the cases registered, including those transferred.
 3. The Police personnel are not keen in using third degree
methods to extract information from the accused. As the system is
in a position to give the details of arrests made at various Police
Stations, which helps the investigating Officer to elicit the
information from the accused without resorting to human right
violations thus making the life of Police Officer more content.


Problems in Existing System
 In the manual system, when property is recovered by some other
Police Station other than the PS where the crime is registered, it
was a tedious task to match the PS with the lost property and the
PS which recovered the property.
 Today Investigative Progress can match the lost and recovered
property and there by pin point the real efficiency / productivity of
the individual officer / Unit Productivity of men is established with
correct supporting data making it a reality to evaluate the
performance and productivity of Officials on scientific lines.
 This is now being realized through Investigative Progress
 Before computerization, the part of the force was engaged for
carrying out unproductive jobs such as delivering FIRs to higher
officials, collecting Postmortem reports, wound certificates etc.
They were also utilized for entering, filling individual registers,
preparing periodical reports etc Work force is now used for the
purpose for which they were trained (Policing) and not on
unproductive tasks.

Create a new name for District identified by a unique number

 Modify Districts:
Modify the details of the District name by
selecting district id

 Delete Districts:
Delete the district name by selecting district id

 View Districts:
Display all the List of districts


Police stations
New Police Stations:
Create a new name for Police Station identified by
a unique number in this the administrator includes
station id, station name, address, phone number,
district

Modify Police Stations :
Modify the All the details of the Police Station by
selecting Id of the Police station

Delete Police Stations :
Delete the police station by selecting Station id &
Station name


Acts:
This option is used for the Action of law. It has
 New Acts :
Create a new Acts for this insert new Act
id, Act number, Description
 Modify Acts :
Modify the Act details by selecting an
Act id
 Delete Acts :
Delete the Act details by
selecting Act id


Sections
This option is used for the Action of law. It has

 New Section :
Create a new Section under an Act for this insert new Section id, section
number, Description, Act number

 Modify Section :
Modify the Section details under act by selecting Section id

 Delete Section :
Delete the Section details by selecting section id & Section name


Users
New Users:
Create a new user By providing user id, Password, Conform password,
user type(Sub inspector, Constable etc..)

Modify Users:
This screen allows to change /Modify user credentials

Delete users:
Allows to delete the user based on login id

List of Users:
Displays All the users list in the screen

Get History:
Displays Users FIR history It includes all the fir details for delete and
modify the history details.

This screen designed for inserting new FIR Details( FIR No, Subject, Date Time ,
Description , Enter by whom)
• View FIR Records
It Displays All the FIR Details By selecting FIR NO
• Update FIR Records
This screen Update FIR Description Details, Property Details, Regional & ACT Details
Crime & Investigation Details , Complaint details etc….

• Delete FIR Records
Delete FIR Details By the selection of FIR Number


Users Options
• Post Crime details:
The user has privilege to post the crime
details such as Crime number which is
auto generated number, crime type , Crime
description, crime location
• Register:
The users are specified their details like
name ,mail id, address
• See the status of Crime details:
The users has to know the crime details
weather the department has to take an
action on the crime or not.
