This project is going to be done over the course of two class periods. 2.  On the first day, you are going to be given a piece of graph paper on which you will create your country. 3 . Your country can be any shape you would like, and can include anything inside of it that you would like. 4 . You should Include a compass rose and a scale on your graphing paper. 5 . When you come to class on the second day, your country needs to be entirely completed, including being colored. 6.  On day two, you are going to be given a larger 11x17 inch paper on which you will glue your newly created country. 7.  After gluing your country to the larger paper, you are to create a map key that explains what all the symbols on your map stand for. 8.  A Map Title is required and try to be creative! 9 . All countries need to have a flag! 10 . Label each line of latitude and longitude with appropriate numbers. Do not just label the lines 1, 2, 3, 4. You need to count by at least 2 for each line. Example, 2,4,6,8. 11 . Please make sure that there is a  Prime Meridian  and an  Equator  somewhere on your map. This way, you map will display north, south, east, and west latitudes and longitudes. 12 . Finally, give me 15 latitude and longitude coordinates for important items within you country.  13 .
