Vision Be a local and global leader in mobilizing business-led,
U.S.-China collaborations to sustain a planet in balance.
Mission As a Philadelphia-based 501(c)(3) non-profit, we bridge
understanding and catalyze collaboration at scale and
speed, convening impactful partners across
institutional, sectoral, and cultural boundaries.
Mandate CPGP is one of only 36 U.S. sub-national leaders
recognized under the presidential-level Ten Year
Framework for U.S.-China Cooperation on Energy &
the Environment (2009-2018).

4. Milestones (2011-2016)
2011 - Formed the China Partnership of Greater Philadelphia (CPGP) as a 501(c)(3) non-profit
2012
- Published Sustaining U.S.-China Cooperation in Clean Energy with the Woodrow Wilson Center
- Paved way for, and accompanied as delegate during, first trip to China by a sitting PHL Mayor
- Organized Global Green Forum at UPenn, subsequently televised nationwide by CCTV in China
- Accompanied the Philadelphia Orchestra’s CEO to China to set up 5-year China Residency Program
2012
- Supported reciprocal visit to Philadelphia by Mayor of Sister City Tianjin
- Accompanied inaugural Orchestra Residency Tour and organized PHL-China VIP Reception in Tianjin
- Organized and hosted Tianjin Economic-technological Development Area (TEDA) delegation to PHL
2014
- Awarded U.S.-China EcoPartnership by U.S. Departments of State & Energy and PRC State Council
- Invited expert at annual, high-level U.S.-China Strategic & Economic Dialogue (S&ED) talks in Beijing
- Keynoted National Committee on U.S.-China Relations Town Hall at Gerald Ford Presidential Library
2015
- Strategic revamp after unfair outcome announced at conclusion of one-year bid process in Tianjin
- Invited speaker at NSF-supported “Sustainable Cities” and Food-Energy-Water Workshops in Beijing
- Keynoted National Committee on U.S.-China Relations Town Hall at Bucknell University
- Invited speaker at inaugural U.S.-China Climate-smart, Low-carbon Cities Summit (Mayor Garcetti/LA)
