This document describes the Continuous Process Centrifugal Suspended Matter Separator (CPCSMS), a customized centrifuge that can significantly reduce centrifuge speed while removing suspended solids from liquid. This saves energy and treats removed solids more gently than traditional centrifuges. The CPCSMS was inspired by the need for a cost-effective way to separate algae from water for various applications, including biofuels. It can harvest algae at high volumes in an efficient manner. The CPCSMS has potential applications in water treatment, swimming pools, and various industrial processes that involve separating solids from liquids.

Recent talks on biofuels have outlined their un-sustainability in the production phase; commodities such as corn, rapeseed, palm oil and soya are being grown and harvested in a way that could have negative economic, social and environmental effects, and have a global impact on land use, food security, water resources, deforestation and global markets.
since recycling wastewater for flushing and gardening will reduce freshwater use by 50 to 70 percent, wastewater recycling and reuse is the only option.
RITEWAYS introduces its disruptive wastewater recycling technology, rejuWATER.that works with sunlight and soil.
sewage treatment plant from riteways inspired by nature.
Our rejuWATER sewage treatment plant, design has been appreciated by TERI and used in several green building projects to improve their green rating.
The primary purpose of rejuWATER, sewage treatment plant is the prevention of the spread of disease through communities.
Another advantage is the prevention of pollution and maintaining rivers and streams in a healthy and ecologically sound condition.
Any sewage treatment plant that reliably provides high-quality treated water without wasting a lot of energy or requiring skilled labor. Your freshwater footprint would be reduced by 50 to 70% if you use one of these STPs.
According to the thumb-rule, a home is a traditional five-member household. Sewage from homes has a Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) value of 300 to 600 mg/L, making it relatively easy to recycle. Any small sewage treatment plant (STP) capable of effectively recycling wastewater from kitchen sinks and toilets for reuse in flushing and gardening should be considered. You don't want anything that uses a lot of electricity or needs a lot of maintenance.
STPs are positioned at the lowest point on a property so that all wastewater can be transported there by gravity flow. At this stage, a raw sewage storage tank is built to hold the sewage until it can be treated. Septic tanks or soak pits may be found on older properties that do not have STP.
Saturated Sodium chloride brine can be produced by desalination of seawater.Such high purity brine will become the raw material for the production of Caustic soda and Soda ash. This slide show explains how.

2. C.P.C.S.M.S.
• Continuous Process Centrifugal Suspended Matter
Separator
• What is it?
• It is a customized centrifuge that uses specially designed
chambers and fluid dynamics to significantly reduce
centrifuge speed while removing suspended solids from
a liquid.
• This saves energy and treats the removed solids much
more gently than traditional centrifuges.
3. Why C.P.C.S.M.S.
• The CPCSMS concept was inspired by the need
for a cost effective method for separating Algae
from its aqueous home, for use in a wide variety
of applications, from fertilizers, soil conditioners,
animal feed stocks, food, and cosmetics to bio-
fuels.
• While harvesting Algae is but one market for the
CPCSMS, it will have significant impact on the
bio-fuels market. So I will focus on the Algae
market for the CPCSMS in this presentation with
a bit about the ecological benefits the CPCSMS
can provide.
4. Why Algae
• Algae is the fastest
growing plant we know of
today. It is significant
because it also is the
source of all the fossil oil
we depend on so heavily
to fuel our economy. In
some 3rd world countries
it is a significant food
source for both humans
and live stock. The
picture is of Micro Algae.
5. Algae
• There are over 4000
known species of Algae
today with more being
discovered or bio-
engineered on an almost
daily basis.
• Micro Algae is the variety
that turns your pool or hot
tub that lovely green color
when the chlorine content
is not kept high enough.
• It can also provide us
with Sweet Green Crude
oil.
6. Algae oil
• Algae is nature's little
oil factory absorbing
CO2, sunlight and a
few other nutrients
from the water it lives
in and producing 15%
to 80% oil by weight,
depending on the
species.
7. Algae productivity
• Under the right
conditions Algae can
double to triple its
population in just 24
hours, making it a
substantial over
achiever in the bio
oils market.
8. Algae Farms
• So far 100's of millions of
dollars have been spent
on developing special
ponds and Photo bio-
reactors to mono culture
bio-engineered species of
Algae that produce up to
80% oil by weight for oil
production.
• The CPCSMS will
substantially reduce the
cost of de-watering the
Algae.
9. Natural Algae
• Naturally occurring Algae has
been largely ignored by the
bio-fuel industry due to the
large volumes of water that
one would need to process in
harvesting wild Algae, with an
average oil content of 15% to
35% by weight.
• This is where the CPCSMS
steps up to take a cost
effective advantage of the
natural resources.
10. Algae Plague or Gusher?
• It can be either! When Algae gets
plenty of sunlight, nutrients
(typically from farm fertilizer runoff
and waste water), it will grow till it
starts cutting off the sun from the
lower depths killing the Algae
there. Which then sinks to the
bottom and begins to consume
oxygen while decaying. This
creates what is called an oxygen
depleted "Dead zone" that few
aquatic species can live in. It also
out gases methane & hydrogen
sulfide, and that putrid swamp
smell, none of which are desirable.
• The CPCSMS can help prevent
Algae from reaching hazardous
concentrations.
11. Lets call it a Gusher
• The CPCSMS ( Continuous
Process Centrifugal
Suspended Matter Separator)
to the rescue!
• The CPCSMS could be used
to harvest Large blooms of
Algae for bio-fuels, livestock
feed, fertilizer and soil
conditioners. Leaving much
cleaner water as a side benefit
of its use.
• The CPCSMS is fully scale-
able to sizes that could remove
Algae at processing rates in
the 1000's of gallons per
minute.
12. Additional markets for CPCSMS
• Water treatment - both as a pre-treatment for potable
water treatment plants & post waste water treatment
removal of suspended solids.
• Swimming pools, hot tubs, decorative ponds all could be
cleaned by a CPCSMS.
• Thousands of chemical processes use centrifuges to
extract solids from liquids, the CPCSMS has advantages
here too!
• The CPCSMS can provide cost effective extraction of
solids from any liquid medium.
• Because the CPCSMS does not require flocculants, it
eliminates that cost and is ecologically benign.
