The Role of Theoretical Frameworks in Research
Research is a process of evaluating a concept or theory concerning a specific subject. Analysis of a theory includes examining the behaviors and characteristics of people and how they interact with biological, interpersonal, and environmental factors (Polit & Beck, 2017). Every theory attempts to explain phenomena and how they are related to a specific purpose. Valid research uses a theory or model as the building blocks. Nursing theory relies on models to define what nursing is and the processes involved in providing care (Polit & Beck, 2017). In this post, I will examine a research example that has adopted different theories and models to design, implement, and evaluate health promotion efforts (Joseph, Daniel, Thind, Benitez, & Pekmezi, 2016).
Research Review
Finding research related to nursing theories and models was an easy task. Many fundamental nursing policies and procedures are founded on either a theory or a model. For this paper review, I chose the transtheoretical model which states that “transition from one stage of change to the next are affected by processes of change” (Polit & Beck, 2017, p. 124). The research paper was focused on reviewing numerous theories used to assess long-term maintenance of physical activity, weight loss, and smoking cessation (Joseph et al., 2016). Within this research, the authors referenced five prominent behavioral theories which are self-determination theory, the theory of planned behavior, social cognitive theory, transtheoretical model, and the social ecological model (Joseph et al., 2016). The paper excluded studies that referenced cognitive behavioral therapy used for intervention. PubMed and PsycINFO were used with relevant search terms and Boolean operators. Each article was then reviewed by three different reviewers.
Transtheoretical Model
In this article, the transtheoretical model (TTM) was used to define and recognize behavioral change through natural processes. The total number of participants was 20,645 with over 65% of participants being female with a mean age of 49.9 years (Joseph et al., 2016). TTM is a combination of behavior change theories and psychotherapy (Joseph et al., 2016). TTM presumes people move through the five stages of behavioral change which are precontemplation, contemplation, preparation, action, and maintenance in a cyclical manner instead of a linear route (Joseph et al., 2016). Often participants in the study found themselves making progress with physical activity, weight loss, and smoking cessation only to regress creating a cycle of one step ahead and two steps back(Joseph et al., 2016). Relapse is a common occurrence with TTM for new patients and long-term patients. Maintaining the stage of change can be challenging due to intrinsic and extrinsic.

This project will be completed through a literature review. This will be carried out through Google Scholar, CINHAL, Ana G. Mendez Virtual Libraries, WorldCat, PubMed, Internet database. The research will be peer reviewed. A minimum 30 articles of no more than 5 years will be reviewed. I will use some keywords for my search like: Probiotic, Ventilator-Associated Pneumonia, ICU, conventional methods.
The results obtained from the study will contribute to determine if the probiotic use in prevention of ventilator associated pneumonia is more effective than the conventional method, with a more cost-effective result.
All information collected in this review will be kept in a locked dresser in the principal investigator's office for a period of 5 years. Both, the principal investigator and the mentor will have access to this material. After this time (5 years), the data will be eliminated with a paper shredder and discarded.
Project Evaluation Results
Summarize tables with all citation will be presented in appendix A&B; appendix A will be used for the summary of primary research evidence, and appendix B will be used for the summary of the systematic reviews.

I know that several of you are concerned about the format and length of this paper since they are not defined. Here are some tips that I have learned about Operations Management that might help.
Two ways that business professionals display information is in a Decision Paper or Information Paper. These are both very similar with the only difference being that the information paper is designed to inform a decision maker and a decision paper is providing the information necessary to make a decision. At this point in your short Operations Manager career I would recommend an Information Paper approach. This way you can specifically inform your boss (the CEO) what you have done to the factory and what the results were.
Here is a typical Information Paper format.
Title Page: With your name, the title of your paper (use something real, not MGT 307), and a date
Body:
Start with an introductory paragraph that informs the boss of what you are trying to tell them.
Bottom Line paragraph that says where you are and what is next. This should be short.
Assumptions paragraph that states any assumptions that you made or will have to make in the future.
Facts and Analysis paragraphs are the meat and potatoes. What did you do? What did you expect to happen? What really did happen? Support these facts with graphics. The graphics can be visual displays of data or tables of data. You choose how best to sell your results. You can do this either as a week by week discussion or by a topic (forecasting, scheduling, etc.).
Summary and conclusion: This set of paragraphs brings all of the highlights to a close.
References – if you need them. I don’t require them unless you specifically call out something that the boss may need to take a deeper look at.
Hopefully this format now allows you to tell your story about the three things that you are being graded on:
1. How did your team’s factory improve over time? Use real metrics to show that your team became more effective and more efficient. 15 points
2. What did your team do and how did it affect your team’s results? Use real metrics to show what happened. 50 points
3. What would you do differently and why? Use information from the book/slides/videos/class to support your comments. 35 points

The Role of Theoretical Frameworks in Research
Research is a process of evaluating a concept or theory concerning a specific subject. Analysis of a theory includes examining the behaviors and characteristics of people and how they interact with biological, interpersonal, and environmental factors (Polit & Beck, 2017). Every theory attempts to explain phenomena and how they are related to a specific purpose. Valid research uses a theory or model as the building blocks. Nursing theory relies on models to define what nursing is and the processes involved in providing care (Polit & Beck, 2017). In this post, I will examine a research example that has adopted different theories and models to design, implement, and evaluate health promotion efforts (Joseph, Daniel, Thind, Benitez, & Pekmezi, 2016).
Research Review
Finding research related to nursing theories and models was an easy task. Many fundamental nursing policies and procedures are founded on either a theory or a model. For this paper review, I chose the transtheoretical model which states that “transition from one stage of change to the next are affected by processes of change” (Polit & Beck, 2017, p. 124). The research paper was focused on reviewing numerous theories used to assess long-term maintenance of physical activity, weight loss, and smoking cessation (Joseph et al., 2016). Within this research, the authors referenced five prominent behavioral theories which are self-determination theory, the theory of planned behavior, social cognitive theory, transtheoretical model, and the social ecological model (Joseph et al., 2016). The paper excluded studies that referenced cognitive behavioral therapy used for intervention. PubMed and PsycINFO were used with relevant search terms and Boolean operators. Each article was then reviewed by three different reviewers.
Transtheoretical Model
In this article, the transtheoretical model (TTM) was used to define and recognize behavioral change through natural processes. The total number of participants was 20,645 with over 65% of participants being female with a mean age of 49.9 years (Joseph et al., 2016). TTM is a combination of behavior change theories and psychotherapy (Joseph et al., 2016). TTM presumes people move through the five stages of behavioral change which are precontemplation, contemplation, preparation, action, and maintenance in a cyclical manner instead of a linear route (Joseph et al., 2016). Often participants in the study found themselves making progress with physical activity, weight loss, and smoking cessation only to regress creating a cycle of one step ahead and two steps back(Joseph et al., 2016). Relapse is a common occurrence with TTM for new patients and long-term patients. Maintaining the stage of change can be challenging due to intrinsic and extrinsic.

I know that several of you are concerned about the format and length of this paper since they are not defined. Here are some tips that I have learned about Operations Management that might help.
Two ways that business professionals display information is in a Decision Paper or Information Paper. These are both very similar with the only difference being that the information paper is designed to inform a decision maker and a decision paper is providing the information necessary to make a decision. At this point in your short Operations Manager career I would recommend an Information Paper approach. This way you can specifically inform your boss (the CEO) what you have done to the factory and what the results were.
Here is a typical Information Paper format.
Title Page: With your name, the title of your paper (use something real, not MGT 307), and a date
Body:
Start with an introductory paragraph that informs the boss of what you are trying to tell them.
Bottom Line paragraph that says where you are and what is next. This should be short.
Assumptions paragraph that states any assumptions that you made or will have to make in the future.
Facts and Analysis paragraphs are the meat and potatoes. What did you do? What did you expect to happen? What really did happen? Support these facts with graphics. The graphics can be visual displays of data or tables of data. You choose how best to sell your results. You can do this either as a week by week discussion or by a topic (forecasting, scheduling, etc.).
Summary and conclusion: This set of paragraphs brings all of the highlights to a close.
References – if you need them. I don’t require them unless you specifically call out something that the boss may need to take a deeper look at.

Some of the information below may be repetitive of what you have read in Creswell. In chapter 10, Singleton addressed field research, which overlaps with some qualitative designs, but for Singleton it is different from qualitative research because field research often involves quantification and more than simply observation. (Sometimes qualitative research also involves quantification) What Singleton addressed as field research is out the traditions of sociology and anthropology. Field research is probably more like ethnography than it is like other qualitative designs.
In a previous unit, we mentioned the use of existing data for research. Sometimes using data that are available lessens the data gathering task because you do not have to be dependent on others to return a survey or agree to an interview. Here is a good example of the use of existing data in a causal-comparative design. A former Princeton student who was in the Education program and is an assistant principal did her dissertation using existing data. She wanted to know if the reading scores on a standardized test (ITBS) were different after a new approach to teaching reading than before the new approach began. She went back to 1991 and recorded scores of 1st and 2nd graders for a five-year period before the intervention in 1996. Then she obtained scores of 1st and 2nd graders for five years after the new program and then did a number of statistical comparisons. She found significant differences on the comparisons so it would appear that the new approach to reading was effective. She could have set up a quasi-experimental design, but unless she did it for a number of years, she would not have had nearly as much data. This is a case in which it was not feasible to do an experimental design, but she obtained useful data.
Not all research using available data is causal-comparative. Much is descriptive. Probably the use of available data for research is among the top three types of designs used. Think of all the studies that come from the U.S. Census every ten years. You may have some good data stored at your place of employment. One researcher in Arizona has studied the trash/garbage of people for 25 years to find out how they live. Can you imagine sifting through someone's trash for 25 years? He has, however, learned a great deal about how the people whose trash he has swiped in the Tucson area live.
Moving back now to Chapter 10 in Singleton. While qualitative research is simply not acceptable to some researchers, in many ways, it can be more valuable than quantitative research when specificity and correctness are not necessary. Probably about 40% of Princeton students do some type of qualitative research for their dissertations.
Singleton refers to qualitative research as field research. He simply uses a broad category to cover various kinds because qualitative research is done in the real world (field).

In the literature review section, the topic must be operationalized to researchable headings, and existing literature on the headings sourced and critically examined to: build the proposal on a wider context, find gaps in literature, methods, and theories. The research design and methods section must convince readers about the research worldview, research design, research strategy, method of data collection, method of data analysis, population or unit of analysis, and sample (if needed). The result section must show the results of analyses of collected data. In the discussion of results section, the results are discussed based on existing literature, theories, and methodologies. Finally, recommendations and conclusions are included. If students follow the sequence in this course, they will be able to produce publishable and excellent theses.

Some of the information below may be repetitive of what you have read in Creswell. In chapter 10, Singleton addressed field research, which overlaps with some qualitative designs, but for Singleton it is different from qualitative research because field research often involves quantification and more than simply observation. (Sometimes qualitative research also involves quantification) What Singleton addressed as field research is out the traditions of sociology and anthropology. Field research is probably more like ethnography than it is like other qualitative designs.
In a previous unit, we mentioned the use of existing data for research. Sometimes using data that are available lessens the data gathering task because you do not have to be dependent on others to return a survey or agree to an interview. Here is a good example of the use of existing data in a causal-comparative design. A former Princeton student who was in the Education program and is an assistant principal did her dissertation using existing data. She wanted to know if the reading scores on a standardized test (ITBS) were different after a new approach to teaching reading than before the new approach began. She went back to 1991 and recorded scores of 1st and 2nd graders for a five-year period before the intervention in 1996. Then she obtained scores of 1st and 2nd graders for five years after the new program and then did a number of statistical comparisons. She found significant differences on the comparisons so it would appear that the new approach to reading was effective. She could have set up a quasi-experimental design, but unless she did it for a number of years, she would not have had nearly as much data. This is a case in which it was not feasible to do an experimental design, but she obtained useful data.
Not all research using available data is causal-comparative. Much is descriptive. Probably the use of available data for research is among the top three types of designs used. Think of all the studies that come from the U.S. Census every ten years. You may have some good data stored at your place of employment. One researcher in Arizona has studied the trash/garbage of people for 25 years to find out how they live. Can you imagine sifting through someone's trash for 25 years? He has, however, learned a great deal about how the people whose trash he has swiped in the Tucson area live.
Moving back now to Chapter 10 in Singleton. While qualitative research is simply not acceptable to some researchers, in many ways, it can be more valuable than quantitative research when specificity and correctness are not necessary. Probably about 40% of Princeton students do some type of qualitative research for their dissertations.
Singleton refers to qualitative research as field research. He simply uses a broad category to cover various kinds because qualitative research is done in the real world (field).

The components of the introduction were all given: background, problem statement, purpose statement, research questions and objectives, theoretical framework, hypothesis(es), significance of study, definition of terms, ethical considerations, delimitation and limitation. In the literature review section, the topic must be operationalized to researchable headings, and existing literature on the headings sourced and critically examined to: build the proposal on a wider context, find gaps in literature, methods, and theories. The research design and methods section must convince readers about the research worldview, research design, research strategy, method of data collection, method of data analysis, population or unit of analysis, and sample (if needed). The result section must show the results of analyses of collected data. In the discussion of results section, the results are discussed based on existing literature, theories, and methodologies. Finally, recommendations and conclusions are included. If students follow the sequence in this course, they will be able to produce publishable and excellent theses.

Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. According to his findings, he realized that positive psychology could cut and prevent depression among people. In his research, 115 people were involved, and according to the findings, positive psychology has an influence and impact on how people perceive themselves and how far and how much they can go to get away from depression. According to all research, depression is increasing at a very alarming rate. Although youths are highly affected, the results are that many people (from all age groups) are diagnosed with depression. The articles have given out their findings and provided suggestions on how to deal with increased depression cases. They show a strong connection between depression, activities people are involved in, and the victim’s mindset and

It is important to come up with a fast and easy solution that can help in solving this nightmare. A good number of people are suffering from depression, and they have to be helped overcome the situation.
