Dear Sir or Madam,
I am seeking an entry level graphic design position and have enclosed my resume for your
consideration. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design with a minor in studio art from Salem
College and a High Honors Associate Degree in Digital Effects and Animation from Forsyth Tech. I have
experience working with The Purple Cow Creative Agency, a Full Service Marketing Company and the
Bloom Agency, an advertising animation company. I am currently employed in retail at Target and Center
City Frame Gallery.
I am a recent graduate of Salem College with a Bachelor’s Degree in graphic design and a minor
in studio art. While studying the digital aspects of design, I explored some of the traditional forms of art
as well as modern aspects. For my senior thesis, I produced art focusing on color and how people perceive
the same subject using different colors and mediums titled “Color Perception and Emotion.” My
accompanying show titled, “Frenemies of Art Medium” consisted of printmaking, 35mm film
photography, acrylic and oil paintings, explored many different types of art.
I also have a Digital Effects and Animation High Honors Associate Degree from Forsyth
Technical Community College. While attending Forsyth Tech,my classmates and I worked with the
Bloom Agency in Winston Salem to produce an animation project called “The Story of You”. This
project highlighted all the programs and activities available at Forsyth Tech. This project included
presenting ideas to the agency, producing story boards, and producing an animation within the
client/company relationship. . I graduated with a high honors degree , making Dean’s List for several
semesters and President’s Honor List spring 2011, with a 4.0 GPA.
After graduating from Forsyth Tech,I worked as an intern with The Purple Cow creative agency.
My duties included logo design, animation and social media. While interning at The Purple Cow I
designed the Famer’s Feed and Seed DimaondBack Outfitter’s logo, Smiles by Design logo, and the
Captain Garage Door animation which can be found on Youtube.
My work experience includes severalretail jobs including Center City Frame Gallery in Winston
Salem, Family Christian Store and Target. At Center City Frame Gallery, I assist customers with matting
and framing options for their artwork. In addition, I am a key holder, open and close the store, and
process payments. At Family Christian Store, I was a key holder, opened and closed the store which
included opening and closing the registers. I also set up displays, organized products, and assisted
customers and other employees. In addition, I have been employed at the Target store in Kernersville for
the past six and a half years. My responsibilities include sorting and organizing products, setting up
displays and assisting other employees and customers. For my hard work, I was awarded employee of the
month.
I am a hard worker who likes to learn new things. In addition, I am detail oriented assisting with
the placement and organization of text, information and visuals. My organizational skills, creative
thinking, speed, critical eye, and friendly personality, would be an asset to your team.
