- 1. September 30, 2016 To whom it may concern: I am a certificated Aviation Maintenance professional with 36 years of experience in the field. I spent 3 years in helicopter maintenance with various companies in Alaska to include remote field maintenance, and recently spent 28 years at Horizon Air in Portland, OR. My duties at Horizon ran the gamut from line maintenance to Technical Specialist, to Maintenance Controller. I have previously worked as a part-time instructor in the Aviation Maintenance Technology Department at Portland Community College. Subject areas taught included Aircraft Assembly and Rigging, Composite Structures, and Aircraft Applied Science. Most recently, I worked in maintenance and restoration of aging, radial engine aircraft such as DC-3/C-47 types. In addition to my experience as an aircraft mechanic, I have an interest in all things mechanical, and have become a competent auto mechanic at home.
