extremelywell together,servingthe residentsof Westfieldandinparticularthe 3rd
Ward. We bothfeel
it isan honorand privilege toserve asyourCouncilmen.
Westfieldcontinuestobe recognizedasone of the bestplacesinNew Jerseyto live. Inordertopreserve
all that we enjoyaboutlivingin Westfield andtocontinue makingWestfieldevenbetter,Iaskthatyou
supportmy friend,CouncilmanDavidOliveiraonTuesday,November7th

CouncilmanOliveirapossessesthe integrity,experience,andleadershipskillstomaintainWestfield’s
quality of life andreputationof goodgovernment. He hasserved ourTown exceptionallywell andour
hope isthat we get the opportunitytocontinue toworktogetherforthe residentsof the 3rd
Ward.
As Chairmanof the PublicWorksCommittee, CouncilmanOliveirawasintegral in reducingthe
ConservationCenterfee,launchingthe free mulchandfree firewood program, andinitiating
beautification projectsall aroundtown includingFoundation Park,TamaquesPark, the MartinLuther
King,Jr. monumentandour war memorials.CouncilmanOliveirahasfocusedhisefforts onplanting
trees,restoringthe tree canopyonresidential streets,andlisteningtothe needsof 3rd
Ward residents.
Throughhisleadership, CouncilmanOliveirahas workedwiththe town officials andDepartmentof
PublicWorksto identifystreetsinneedof resurfacing androadrepairs.Intotal,there will be 16 milesof
roads resurfacedduringCouncilmanOliveira’s fouryearsinoffice.The townwasable topurchase new
equipmenttoimprove the qualityof ourroadrepairsand launchedthe “pothole patrol”reportingtool
on the Town’s website. Throughstrategiceffortsandgoodgovernment,the PublicWorksCommittee
addresses the needsof the townbyengaginginprojectsthatwill workforWestfield.
CouncilmanOliveiraalsooffershisbusinessacumenandfinancial skillsasamemberof the Town’s
Finance Committee.Withhis experience andexpertise asthe BusinessAdministratorforthe Piscataway
Board of Education,he is committedto fiscal responsibility,workingtokeepthe Town’sBondratingat
AAA for4 yearsin a row. Of note,lessthan3% of the municipalitiesinNew Jersey have receivedthis
distinction.
