  1. The news network has brought to light the current issues impacting OEM Automakers’ and supplier relations.
  2. I’m Jason Gallion. Today I want to share with you challenges facing OEM and supplier relationships.
  3. Our supplier survey, was conducted to evaluate areas of impact, including cost reduction efforts towards… raw material, tooling, machine process, components, assembly, quality, and packaging
  4. However, based on the survey data, only $5.7MM of actual cost reduction efforts were applied to the $95MM required cost reduction target.
  5. Challenges we observed were, Complexity… multiple part types, as well as growing and shrinking forecasts, make it difficult to calculate piece price reduction Competing resources… it’s difficult to plan and match internal technical resources towards process improvement, quality control, delivery, and cost reduction. Having the knowledge and insight to chose amid an investment between improved robotics or energy efficiency, impacts the direction of required technical resources Complacency… “This is the way it’s always been done, so there must be no other options” To break this paradigm, we need choices, new opportunities, team building
  6. Collaborative effort requires unfiltered evaluation. It’s necessary to know were your efforts exist, compared to industry best practices. For example, are your efforts below or above average. We can benefit from sharing knowledge, insight, and successful efforts, freely, without restrictions
  7. The focus is to - build on supplier group strengths, provide choices - And, Generate opportunities for collaborative efforts, for example… multiple installations, one engineered solution.
  8. Our software, delivers innovative solutions into the cost reduction effort
  9. The objective is to, Leverage the power of the supplier base, To, Connect, collaborate, and integrate innovation
  10. The opportunity to collaborative exists, it’s up to us to build relationships, that foster, a new collaborative environment *Software Supported - Data Driven Solutions
