Through knowledge engineering techniques, this document analyzes trends in cosmetic products. It uses co-word analysis and strategic diagrams to identify key research themes and their evolution over time. The number of published papers and identified themes both increase significantly from 2001-2012. Major long-term themes include toxicity testing, skin issues like dermatitis, and the use of animals in tests. Emerging themes in later periods include cosmetic techniques, skin pigmentation, and analysis of ingredients like carbamazepine. The study aims to highlight new trends in cosmetic research and development.

Current Trends in Product Development during COVID-19vivatechijri
This paper will summarize the authors´ experience over the last decades, from new methods developed
and used within Product Development, as well as current trends. Hence, a general and broad overview is
presented, rather than recent research results. Driving forces in PD are: Technology, Market and Society.
Ecological, economic and social sustainability require recycling, reuse, energy conservation and new business
concepts. Customization is carried out by modular architecture, combining customer specific products with
volume production of components and sub-systems. PD integrates “hard” properties (engineering), with “soft”
properties (industrial design). Fundamental PD characteristics are: Iteration, Integration (technical and
organizational), and Innovation. Globally distributed industrial partners co-operate using Internet. Iteration:
modeling/simulation, virtual prototyping and additive manufacturing speed up process loops. Structured PD:
Initial specification of “what” – functional requirements, then “how” - generation of design solutions.
Interdependencies analysis is important to simplify the product´s structure. The V-model for specification and
verification is commonly used. A 3-stage industrial process separates strategy, core technology development, and
product design for market introduction.

Evaluation of techno-scientific networks: a Spanish network on protected area...Pepe
Co-occurrence relations between keywords, researchers and journals in the papers can be analyzed and mapped to know their nodes, subnets, and strategic research areas It has made strategic analysis and dynamic analysis of the Spanish Research Network on Protected Areas as the Web of Science from 1981-2005. We have obtained the Strategic Diagram, Strategic Knowledge Maps of Techno-scientific Network or CERT Map, lists of researchers and journals of strategic importance and activity analysis table of subnets. Techno-scientific network is a well-structured network with twenty-two subnets strategic. Network analysis with KDD techniques and engineering and knowledge mapping is a first class support to strategic decision-making in Science Policy and Evaluation of Science and Technology.

COSMETIC PRODUCTS: ANALYSIS OF TRENDS
Co-word analysis is a method used in knowledge discovery in
bibliographic databases.
Two actors, i.e. two words, two concepts, two
researchers, are interrelated when frequently
appear in the same documents. At the same
time, these two actors are associated with
others different actors and so on to form a
large technoscientific network.
2
The strength of the bond between two words i and j (or cij
other actors) is quantified with the equivalence index: eij
CED 2013

When all words of all documents are compared an adjacency matrix is
obtained. This matrix represents the network of actors.

COSMETIC PRODUCTS: ANALYSIS OF TRENDS
Within the technoscientific network there are areas where the density of
links around some nodes is greater than in the rest of the network.
These areas consist on very connected nodes that are called centres of
interest, because they represent sets of relationships specially developed.

COSMETIC PRODUCTS: ANALYSIS OF TRENDS
When actors are words or concepts, the interest centres represent the
research topics or research themes that are relevant in the network of actors.
1) Density: Represents
the average intensity of
the links of a theme.
2) Centrality: Represents
how close to the centre
of the network is the
theme. It is measured by
the number of links of
