Capacity Building
 We recognise that gender equality, o e s rights, education for women and
girls worldwide, and o e s empowerment are critical to Creating Shared
Value for our business and for society.
 We believe that different ways of thinking complement each other and lead to
better decisions. In other words, gender balance simply makes business sense.
 It is therefore essential that we help to increase o e s participation in, and
contribution to, the value chain in a sustainable way.
 We have developed several initiatives that promote training and professional
development for women, in line with the UN s Millennium Development
Goals.
 POLICY & ADVOCACY
 We works with industry to strengthen o e s role and initiated various policies
for Prevention of Sexual Harassment Act, Internal Complaints Committee and
Orientation for Women Independent Directors to ensure participation. The focus
areas are: Legal Rights and Acts for Women, Women Workforce in Industry,
Gender Diversity, Corporate Gender Gap, etc.
 LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT

Women Independent Director.
Affirmative Action for the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes communities is a
voluntary commitment by Indian companies to help and ensure equal opportunity to
members of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes communities.
Lack of employability has also been identified as major source of lack of employment
amongst the Indian Youth and SC and ST population in particular.
The Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribes have suffered educational deprivation for a very
large span of time. Even after the 50 years of independence and Indian central and state
go er e ts interventions, SCs and STs have not been able to bridge the divide existing
between them and the higher castes/ general category.
Affirmative Action promotes encouragement of budding entrepreneurs through
mentoring programmes to help him/her develop a sustainable system.
Employment helps to empower through the adoption of caste-sensitive employers for
increasing the number of SC and ST employee in the workforce.
 We are helping corporate in a entire value chain of 4E of Affirmative Action.
 Employability is not just about vocational and academic skills. Individuals need relevant
and usable labour market information to help them make informed decisions about the
labour market options available to them.
 Initiatives such as scholarships, primary, secondary and higher education programmes
targeted for the disadvantaged, adult literacy and others through Affirmative Action by
the private sector can boost the current dismal scenario.
 Entrepreneurship development for creating self-reliant individuals and families, through
identification and selection of persons with adequate skills and risk-taking capacity;
capability for business plan development and the ability to link financial institutions for
credit facilities.
 Setting goal towards o discrimination. setting a policy of positi e discri i atio
whereby they are actively favouring SC/ST candidates for employment provided they are
equal on merit/competence to other candidates.
