University College Cork was founded in 1845 with the motto "Where Finbarr Taught, Let Munster Learn." There is a superstition that students should not cross the main quadrangle before graduating to avoid failing exams. Ogham stones on the campus provide inscriptions in the earliest written form of the Irish language. The library is named "Leabharlann" which means library in English after Professor George Boole. The Chapel features a mosaic floor depicting the zodiac and river of life and sun, where both UCC graduates and non-graduates can get married. The Lewis Glucksman Gallery, currently hosting a "Travelled Tales" exhibition, is open Tuesday-Saturday 10am-5
