The document describes the Core Network Technologies Lab at OTEresearch which tests and evaluates core network technologies to support OTE's network planning, including testing broadband network gateways, IPv6, metro Ethernet, next generation SDH, and participating in research projects. In 2012, the lab successfully completed tests of major network upgrades and new equipment from various vendors. Key challenges for 2013 include expanding test beds and capabilities to keep up with network demands and growth.
