• Business consultant Scott Gelbard has spent his career helping companies
succeed in fields ranging from biotechnology to lead generation to
sportswear. Outside of his work, Scott Gelbard gives back to the community
through contributions to several charitable efforts, including Men for the
Cure.

• The Men for the Cure event, held annually in Denver, Colorado, to raise money to
combat breast cancer, was founded to honor the memory of Diane O’Connor
Thompson, who died in 1999 after a struggle with the disease. The event has
featured a number of notable Colorado personalities, including professional athletes
and coaches, politicians, and business leaders.
• Over its 13 years, Men for the Cure has raised close to $1.2 million in support of the
University of Colorado Hospital, whose charitable foundation took over
organizational duties for the event in 2010. The 2013 Men for the Cure event will
take place on October 10 at XJet in Englewood, Colorado, where Denver Broncos
head coach John Fox will provide the keynote speech. Tickets may be purchased at a
launch party to be held June 19 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Denver.
