1. CONTRACT FOR MEMBERSHIP FOR: THE INVESTMENT BANKING
SOCIETY AT FAIRFIELD UNIVERSITY
Membership for the Investment Banking Society at Fairfield University is both an
honor and a commitment. Students who sign this contract agree to the following
rules and policies and agree that they will be kicked out of the society or be placed
on probation if any rule is broken:
1. All meetings must be attended. If a member misses more than 2 meetings
without a proper & legitimate excuse (ie medical reason, class, etc.) then they
will be kicked out of the society.
2. All members must wear formal business wear to the meetings as this is the
proper attire in an investment bank and the society will be hosting guest
speakers from top investment banks. Formal business wear is as defined: for
men, suits with ties. For women, pant, skirt, or dress suits.
3. All members must pay a society due of $20 per semester.
4. During each meeting, all members must have their cell phones off as
important lessons are being taught and require full attention. Laptops will be
used from time to time, especially when we use Excel.
5. Environment: The members of the board are here to help you successfully
transform yourselves into leaders ready for a career in investment banking.
Treat the board members with respect. Any student who lacks respect at any
meeting may be dismissed. Conduct yourselves as you would in an
investment bank.
6. Assignments: showing up to the meetings is not enough to become heavily
proficient in the facets of investment banking. When something is assigned,
(ie obtain your Bloomberg Certification or work on a DCF calculation), we
expect you to do it. Failure to do so & you will face dismissal from the club or
probation.
7. For each guest speaker, each member must prepare (2) questions and do
adequate research. Be prepared to be called on randomly by the board.
