Silent Auction Secrets: 5 simple changes to generate bigger bids4Good.org
Auction planners: How do you get guests to bid more in your silent auction?
When you’ve gone to the effort of soliciting donors for items, setting up displays, and arranging volunteers for checkout, it’s not a pleasant feeling at night’s end to realize your fabulous items were sold at a hefty discount. It can be really demoralizing.
Here’s the good news. Even if you don’t change your items OR your audience, you can still raise more money. You just need to use the same marketing and psychological tactics in your silent auction that the big stores use to get us consumers to buy.
The commercial sector spends millions of dollars in marketing studies; they know the triggers that get us to pull out our credit cards. In this webinar, you’ll learn how to adapt five of their marketing secrets to your silent auction, so you can appreciate the same benefits.
In this fun and incredibly practical webinar, you’ll see examples of good (and bad) silent auctions in action so you know how to get top bids at your event.

Should you hire a contractor instead of a regular employeeCarl-Johan Larsson
So you need something done, it can be a web app, a mobile app or pretty much anything in the IT world you can think of, but should you hire people and come to work for you or should you use a contractor?
There are a lot of things to consider when making this decision, I will list a few and then propose a solution in the end. As you will soon see, I'm a bit biased, but bare with me.

5 Steps To Regain Your Confidence - You Have ChoicesJenni Proctor
The biggest difference between a confident person and someone who lacks confidence is that the confident person recognises that they have choices and they are prepared to back their decisions. Even if your confidence is still not strong take the time to consider the options that you currently have.
With millions of people still out there looking for a job, there is no doubt that competition among job seekers is tense. On the part of hiring managers, they don’t want to waste their time reading the application letters of those with resumes that don’t seem to stand out from the rest.
According to studies, more than half of the employees around the world would gladly change careers if they just have the chance to do it. Well, this is a very clear sign that a lot of workers are not happy with their careers and jobs.
"Impact of front-end architecture on development cost", Viktor TurskyiFwdays
I have heard many times that architecture is not important for the front-end. Also, many times I have seen how developers implement features on the front-end just following the standard rules for a framework and think that this is enough to successfully launch the project, and then the project fails. How to prevent this and what approach to choose? I have launched dozens of complex projects and during the talk we will analyze which approaches have worked for me and which have not.

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.

2. TYPES OF CONTRACT
Explain the following types of contracts, including advantages and
disadvantages
Full-time
Full time is where you are in work more than you are off work. This is good when
you have nothing you have to commit to like college, university. However a
disadvantage of it is that you don’t have a lot of time for yourself.
Part-time
Part time is where you get a selective number of hours per week, part time jobs
are good for people who go to college and university and need time for their
courses. A bad thing about a part time job is that its less pay and if you were
able to work more during the holidays you wont necessarily get to because
you’re contract is only part time.
3. Freelance :
This is where you work with different companies at different times and are
not just permanently employed by one company. A plus of this is that
you wont get bored because you get to travel to different places but a
bad thing about this is you have to travel.
shift work
Work that is recurring and the groups of workers do the same jobs in
rotation. A good thing about this is that you get to do different parts of
the job but a bad thing is that eventually you will get bored.
Permanent
Permanent is where you are hired and you wont be leaving unless you
decide to quit or get fired. A positive thing about this is that you don’t
have to worry about a job because you have one .
Temporary
Temporary is where you are hired for a certain period of time. This could be
covering someone on maternity leave or on vacation. A good thing
about a temporary Job is that you’re only there for a certain amount of
time so it’s a good way to earn some money if you need it but a bad
thing is that you might enjoy it and not want to leave but you have to.
4. Voluntary
This Is working for free. A good thing about this is that you could gain the
experience you need for a job however a bad thing is that you might
need money and the voluntary work is stopping you earning the full
amount that you could be.
Casual
Casual is where you cover a person who has called in sick and are called if
and when the company need you. Its good if you don’t need money and
you can wait for it but its bad if you need money.
Hourly paid
This is where you are paid by the hour.
Piecework;
This is Work paid for according to the amount produced.
5. RECRUITMENT WITHIN THE CREATIVE MEDIA
SECTOR (EXPLAIN WHAT IS PLUS THE
ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES)

Local & national press
Allows you to reach a huge number of people in a given geographic area
Free help in creating and producing ad copy is usually available
Ad space can be expensive
6. personal contacts & word of mouth
Using this is free and easy. But it can be very slow and you are limited to
the amount of people who hear about you.
Networking
