TYPES OF CONTRACT
Explain the following types of contracts, including advantages and
disadvantages
Full-time
Full time is where you are in work more than you are off work. This is good when
you have nothing you have to commit to like college, university. However a
disadvantage of it is that you don’t have a lot of time for yourself.
Part-time
Part time is where you get a selective number of hours per week, part time jobs
are good for people who go to college and university and need time for their
courses. A bad thing about a part time job is that its less pay and if you were
able to work more during the holidays you wont necessarily get to because
you’re contract is only part time.
Freelance :
This is where you work with different companies at different times and are
not just permanently employed by one company. A plus of this is that
you wont get bored because you get to travel to different places but a
bad thing about this is you have to travel.
shift work
Work that is recurring and the groups of workers do the same jobs in
rotation. A good thing about this is that you get to do different parts of
the job but a bad thing is that eventually you will get bored.
Permanent
Permanent is where you are hired and you wont be leaving unless you
decide to quit or get fired. A positive thing about this is that you don’t
have to worry about a job because you have one .
Temporary
Temporary is where you are hired for a certain period of time. This could be
covering someone on maternity leave or on vacation. A good thing
about a temporary Job is that you’re only there for a certain amount of
time so it’s a good way to earn some money if you need it but a bad
thing is that you might enjoy it and not want to leave but you have to.
Voluntary
This Is working for free. A good thing about this is that you could gain the
experience you need for a job however a bad thing is that you might
need money and the voluntary work is stopping you earning the full
amount that you could be.
Casual
Casual is where you cover a person who has called in sick and are called if
and when the company need you. Its good if you don’t need money and
you can wait for it but its bad if you need money.
Hourly paid
This is where you are paid by the hour.
Piecework;
This is Work paid for according to the amount produced.
