Contact Form with Caldera Forms
- 1. Contact Forms using Caldera Forms
- 2. What is Caldera Forms?
- 3. Caldera Forms is a free WordPress plugin developed to be an intuitive, responsive form builder.
- 4. Its drag and drop feature makes it easy to use.
- 5. Let’s start building our Contact Form!
- 6. Log in to your account and click ‘Dashboard’
- 7. Under Plugins click ‘Add New’
- 8. Type ‘Caldera Forms’ on the search bar
- 9. Click on ‘Caldera Forms’
- 11. Click ‘Activate’
- 12. Go back to your WordPress Dashboard
- 13. Hover your mouse over ‘Caldera Forms’
- 15. Click on ‘Forms’ under ‘Caldera Forms’
- 16. Click on ‘New Form’
- 18. Enter ‘Form Name’ and click Click ‘Create Form’
- 19. Your Contact Form will start with this template
- 21. To add an additional field, click ‘Add Field’ and drag the icon to an area you wish to add a field
- 23. Or click on the ‘+’ icon on the bottom of any field to add a field below the icon
- 25. In both cases the window ‘Fields’ has many options to choose from
- 26. Select a Field you wish to include onto your Form by selecting ‘Set Field’
- 27. You will first get a blank field with a toolbox on the right hand side
- 29. To give the field a name, type inside the ‘Name’ box
- 31. For a ‘Required Field’, check the box next to ‘Required’
- 32. To delete a field, scroll down on the toolbox on the right and click ‘Delete Field’
- 33. Click ‘OK’ to confirm the deletion
- 34. Click this button to split the field into two
- 35. Click this button to move the field to another area
- 36. Now let’s add a Dropdown field
- 37. Add Field and go to ‘Select’
- 38. Find ‘Dropdown Select’ and click ‘Set Field’
- 39. Enter a title under ‘Name’
- 40. Click the check button for a Required Field
- 41. Scroll down and click ‘Add Option’
- 42. Type in the available options you offer
- 43. For the submit button, click on the ‘Send Message’ field and click the edit button. The toolbox on the right hand side will appear
- 44. Type in the Name of the Button as ‘Send Message’, ‘Submit’, etc.
- 45. Click ‘Button’ under the ‘Type’ Field
- 46. For the submissions after clicking ‘Submit’ to be sent to your email, click ‘Email’
- 48. Enter your email address under “From Email”
- 49. To customize the “Form has been successfully submitted” message, click “Form Settings’
- 51. Customize your Success Message
- 52. Click to “Preview Form”
- 53. Then click ‘Save Form’
- 54. Click Preview
- 55. Now let’s create a Contact page
- 56. Go back to your Dashboard
- 57. Go to ‘Pages’ and click ‘Add New’
- 58. Enter the title of the page
- 60. Choose the contact form you have created and click ‘Insert Form’
- 61. The shortcode will automatically embed the form you have created
- 62. Click ‘Preview’ to view the changes
- 63. This is how it looks like
- 64. Then click ‘Publish’ and now you have a Contact page on your site!
- 65. Let’s check if your contact page is working
- 66. Open an Incognito Window
- 67. Go on your website and then to your Contact page
- 68. Fill out your form and send
- 69. After submission, you should see your ‘Success Message’
- 70. Check your email for the submission
- 71. You can also check in Caldera
- 72. Under your Contact Form, click ‘Entries’
- 73. You can view your Entries
- 74. Click ‘View’ and view individual entries
- 76. You have successfully completed your Contact Form with Caldera Forms!!!! Congratulations!!!!
