INTRODUCTION
Teachers has a major role for the education of the students. They have the
knowledge to support their learners in their quest for new learnings on a
specified set of subjects (Siddiqui, 2020). But teaching is not an easy job
that anyone can handle, because being a teacher takes patience, dedication
passion, and the ability to do more with less. Which can lead to a hectic
schedule that may cause stressed to the teachers (Collie, 2022).

INTRODUCTION
In Australia, a study shows a report of a teacher being very or extremely stressed and
considering leaving the profession, with early career teachers, primary teachers, and
teachers working in rural and remote areas reporting highest stress and burnout level.
Conditional process analyses highlighted the importance of emotion regulation, workload
and subjective well-being in the development of teacher stress and some forms of burnout
(Caroll, 2022). And also according to the study, that stress affects the teacher’s mental
health and social well-being. In terms of mental health, they reportedly experienced
sleeping problems, because of being on-call for their learners. And in terms of social well-
being, teachers reportedly experienced low performance, job dissatisfaction, and loss of
happiness (Thomson, 2018).

INTRODUCTION
In Philippines, a study found that Filipino teachers experiencing occupational
stress due to different personal and school related factors such as low salary that
is not enough for their financial needs, high job demand, attendance in meetings,
and absence of congruency among their personal and goals. This reasons can
affect the performance of a teacher, some of the cases that teachers reportedly
experienced are depression, anxiety and sleeping difficulties (Jimenez, 2021).
And also there are reported cases of suicide in the Philippines among teachers,
due to the stress that they have experienced (Ventayen, 2021).

INTRODUCTION
In Davao De Oro, a study found that teachers experiencing mental health
problems due to overworked and under tremendous stress. This has negatively
impacted the development of teachers’ learning resources (Jimenez, 2021).
According to a report, there has been suicide among teachers, which have been
attributed to depression likely caused by excessive workload and pressure from
numerous requirements. This also means that stress is one of the major reasons
for teachers to surrender their lives (Casamayor, 2019).

INTRODUCTION
We have read many articles about the achievements of teachers on their lives
on how successful they are on their jobs. But we have not come across a
qualitative research that focuses only about the stress of teachers on their works,
and the consequences of it on them.
This prompted the researchers to conduct this study to better understand the
everyday experienced of teachers who struggled because of stress. This research
shows the consequences of the hardships of the teachers due to stress. This
research study also raises public awareness about the toleration of stress.

Purpose of the Study
The purpose of this study is to understand the consequences to the teachers
who are stressed due to being over-worked. This further investigates the teacher’s
needs due to stressed, its causes, and their experienced of it that affects their daily
lives, to elaborate the teachers coping mechanism and their insights.

At this stage of the research, the consequences of stressed and the unveiling
of the lived experiences of teachers, are generally defined as the experience by a
teacher of unpleasant, negative emotions, such as anxiety, tension, frustration or

1. What are challenges of the teachers who are stressed?
2. In what ways do teachers develop coping mechanisms in dealing with the
consequences of stress?
3. What did the teachers learn from those consequences?
