How do I find a way to serve? Look at where God has placed you. What needs are there? Look at how God has designed you. What needs can your gifts fill? Your immediate & extended family Your neighborhood & community Ministries in your church Places you’re already serving What needs stir your heart? What people-groups do you enjoy working with? What abilities do you have? (special and ‘common’) What are your spiritual gifts? What life experiences could help others? What from your education and trainings could help others? Yes! Helping others serve creates more conversations of hope So, how can I help others serve? Serving  outside  the church walls = more conversations  More people serving = more people helped = more conversations  Inviting the community  to serve with you = more conversations Unless churches intentionally help people serve, they often unintentionally  discourage  people from serving  And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equipthe saints for the work of ministry. How to help people serve at church Regularly teach and encourage Written ministry job descriptions Personal help in finding a place to serve Church-wide invitations to serve, with follow up Ministries welcome and train new volunteers Support and affirm those who serve Healthy conflict management Regular evaluation You and the people with you will certainly wear yourselves out, for the thing is too heavy for you. . . .
