Connected TV aims to enrich the TV experience through connectivity and increase engagement for TV makers and advertisers. The research will explore how advertising can be improved on connected TVs, what interactive content can be provided to engage audiences, and how connected TVs can enhance TV formats. User interviews, desk research, and field studies will examine what triggers daily connected TV use, challenges and opportunities in developing for the platform, and how TV fits in the multi-screen world. Current status and practices from CBS Connect, content makers, and advertisers will also be investigated. The goal is to build tools that leverage connected TV possibilities to drive convergence.
