Hello my name is Irene and I am doing a Master degree on Bilingual Education.I am
going to talk about the flipped introduction, the earth in the solar system,prototype of an
Open Educational CLIL Project, how to turn my Open eduational project into a
collaborative one, the partner search,how to turn falt activities into superlearning
missions and assessment.
Before starting presenting my open Educational project,I present Miguel who was my
partner at flipped introductions challenging in which we talked about his studies and his
personal and proffesional life.
On the second challenge I analysed CLIL Open Educational Resources, in particular the
Earth in the Solar System, a didactic unit for third graders from social science subject.
The advantage of this project is that a lot of information is avaible for population.As
you can be the owner of your creation you are able to take control over it and explain it
to students.
The disavantages of creating this type of materials are that not everybodynhas access to
computers to benefit from them and in many occasions resources become outdated as
they haven’t been renuewed for so long. You can follow the checklist that I used to
analyse the project.
Finally, I created a presentation about the project I analysed with Genially.
My open Education project Title is living things and non-living things for 1st graders.I
will link CLIL subjects such as natural science, arts and literacy.
On the blog many items are mentioned to achieve the goals of the template,you can
have a look at the template.
I chose cooperative work to turn my open educational project into a collaborative one.
As they work in groups everychild has a different role in the group.
Once everybody has the role in the classroom they are able to work in the following
topic Living things and non-living things
Again if you look at the blog you can see the activities to work with in a cooperative
way.I turned it into a collaborative project using the media. And the teacher is the main
responsible of social networks management.
Skype,blogger,twitter,youtube and instagram.
In my opinion children will enjoy working in cooperative learning and they will
improve their Emotional Quatient=EQ.
After mentioning some of the media that I will use I develop visual activities.My project
is suitable for the ESL Times because I like their Educational techniques.For further
information you can watch my video.
It was not easy to transform flat activities into super learning missions.I recycled ideas
and materials to create a personal science book.You can visit my blog and watch my
video where I explain everything quite well.
I did my personal book explaining this challenge so why not giving the opportunity to
be creative to children, it’s their turn.
To transform flat activities into super learning missions I created two minipictionaries
with JILSTER digital artifact one about living things and the second one about non-
living things which I included on the second post where you can find my final super
learning mission.
Every group has to elaborate, complete and personalize the Minipictionaries done in
class.
Children will practice vocabulary from their previous knowledge and they will add new
images with their correspondent name to build new knowledge.
In the assessment rubric that I have uploaded, I evaluate that children follow the
instructions, their work in groups, social skills and my natural science book.
