The document proposes a concept called Conference Cab, which aims to maximize passenger productivity during taxi rides. It would allow passengers to access office documents, email, the internet, and basic markup tools directly in the taxi. Passengers could transfer work started in the taxi back to their personal devices or accounts. The concept is illustrated through examples of an equity trader and fashion entrepreneur who are able to be more productive during taxi rides using Conference Cab facilities. It outlines prototypes, target audiences, and a potential rollout strategy focused initially on executives and the financial industry.
Dr Mark Elliott's (Collabforge) keynote to the City Planning, Civic Participation the Internet at Princeton University - 1 May 2009.
This presentation details how Collabforge worked with City of Melbourne to map the existing city planing process to develop a re-engineered process that leveraged collaboration and utilised cutting edge 'Web 2.0' solutions. Most notably, an open source wiki-based collaboration environment was developed in order to enable collaboration amongst the many City officers and stakeholders, as well as members of the general public during the public consultation period. The Future Melbourne project (www.futuremelbourne.com.au) recently won the Planning Institute of Australia (Victoria Division) Awards for Excellence, Local Government.
An evolving historic technological revolution is under way, which is creating new industries, new products, new services and, unmercifully redefining or even destroying others. It is more powerful, with greater reach and is growing faster than any other media-ecology. Let´s try to understand the Giant!!

Using barcodes, the application allows you to use your Nokia phone in place of printed tickets. It eliminates traditional paper tickets and, as is common in North America, printing out tickets on a printer at home. The developer, based in Argentina, worked together with Ticketek and mobile operator Telecom Personal, to produce this mobile application.
Understanding Your Audience and Optimizing Revenue Streams
A key to increasing revenue potential is by understanding your audience and figuring out what payment and alternative payment methods fit to each unique experience. This session will help you uncover insights, like defining which goods or incentives to use, knowing where to place the call-to-action, understanding users in order to best direct payment and alternative payment methods, and how to optimize and continually test placements and payment providers against detailed user demographics - to know how and where offers are most effective and productive.

Did you know there are more reasons to take the bus besides that warm feeling you get by considering yourself more environmentally-conscious than the next person? You don't have to buy a magazine to see the latest fashion do's and don'ts, or the trends in accessories. You could find your new favorite song by overhearing it blasting out of someone's headphones. If you're lucky and become a regular, you may develop a series of bus crushes. Or, perhaps you want to see some of the people who take "Keep Portland Weird" a bit too literally. All you need is $2, a cell or iPhone (to check arrival times), and a sense of adventure.
I'll present some of the experiences I've had while on a TriMet bus as well as offer tips for making a trip on public transit less mundane.
Threats to mobile devices are more prevalent and increasing in scope and complexity. Users of mobile devices desire to take full advantage of the features
available on those devices, but many of the features provide convenience and capability but sacrifice security. This best practices guide outlines steps the users can take to better protect personal devices and information.

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

Observability Concepts EVERY Developer Should Know -- DeveloperWeek Europe.pdfPaige Cruz
Monitoring and observability aren’t traditionally found in software curriculums and many of us cobble this knowledge together from whatever vendor or ecosystem we were first introduced to and whatever is a part of your current company’s observability stack.
While the dev and ops silo continues to crumble….many organizations still relegate monitoring & observability as the purview of ops, infra and SRE teams. This is a mistake - achieving a highly observable system requires collaboration up and down the stack.
I, a former op, would like to extend an invitation to all application developers to join the observability party will share these foundational concepts to build on:
