Researchers in Singapore have developed a green tea-based nano carrier that encapsulates cancer drugs like Herceptin. In animal studies, this nano carrier delivered twice as much of the drug to cancer cells while reducing the drug levels in other organs like the liver, kidneys, and lungs by 40-70% compared to using the drug alone. It is the first use of green tea to deliver cancer drugs and showed promising results for more effective tumor targeting and reduced tumor growth.
