Reston Pediatrics Will you take the challenge?
If you could change your life, become a happier, healthier person… Would you want to do that?
If you could get all that without buying anything, without going anywhere and without spending any money…. Would you be willing to take the challenge?
The “Complaint Free Challenge” Or “ A Complaint Free World” By Will Bowen
Will Bowen, a minister who actually started this challenge to make “A Complaint Free World” based on the simple idea that good things will happen for you if you can just leave your grumbling behind. Those are his own words. He was trying to get his church members to stop. Neither Reston Pediatrics or I have any affiliation with his church in Kansas City, MO. I saw this on the Today Show and thought it made sense and could be a fun challenge for the office. I think everyone can benefit from a positive attitude and we can have a few laughs at the same time. Are you ready for the Challenge!
This is how it works…. If you accept the challenge you… Begin to wear the bracelet on either wrist When you catch yourself complaining, gossiping, or criticizing, move the bracelet to the other wrist and begin again If you hear someone else who is wearing a purple bracelet complain, it’s ok to point out their need to switch the bracelet to the other arm: BUT if you do this, you must move your bracelet first! Because you are complaining about them complaining.
Stay with it. It may take many months to reach 21 consecutive days. The average is 4-8 Months And relax, we’re only talking about what comes out of your mouth, you can think it, it’s free!!!
Now I’m going to add a little incentive to make it fun!!! Next Friday, in each office I will take a tally on what day everyone is on and the person that has the highest number (that has moved their bracelet less times) will win a prize. This is to get us all going on the whole challenge!
Our prizes include gift certificates to Starbucks, Cheesecake Factory, Outback, and others plus gifts!! After next week I will have a monthly drawing on the 1 st business day of each month for a prize. The June drawing will end the challenge and we will have a grand prize winner…. Someone who has reached the 21 days or the person closest to 21. They will be awarded a “ Certificate of Happiness” along with our grand prize.
ARE YOU IN? Now this is based on trust so I want to give you what constitutes a complaint…. Complaining is talking about things you do not want rather than what you do want. “ Our thoughts create our lives and our words indicate what we are thinking!”
Or….. What you articulate, you demonstrate! When we pay attention to our thoughts, we can change and ultimately reshape our lives into whatever we choose. Go to www.AComplaintFreeWorld.org to see more information Now lets get with it!!!!
