This document is a compare and contrast essay about the characters Professor X and Logan from the X-Men film series. Professor X has the power of telepathy and founded the X-Mansion to help mutants control their powers, while Logan has unbreakable adamantium claws and a more aggressive nature. Both struggled as children to control their mutant abilities and were isolated from society. As adults, Professor X prefers diplomacy and convincing others non-violently while Logan is quicker to fight and threaten others. The essay concludes that both films teach about overcoming struggles and that the writer personally prefers X-Men for its characters.

She is captured
a bag of drug is forcibly putted into her stomach
The three other bags are inserted into three other boy’s stomach to transport the drug for sales in Europe.
While Lucy is in captivity, one of her captors kicks her in the stomach and causes breaking the bag, releasing a large quantity of the drug into her body.
As a result, she begins acquiring increasingly enhanced physical and mental capabilities
Lucy goes to a hospital to get the bag of drug removed from her stomach
She returns to Mr. Jang’s hotel, kills his bodyguards, assaults Mr. Jang and telepathically extracts the locations of all three drug dealers from his brain.
Lucy contacts this scientist called Professor Norman.
she flies to Paris and contacts a local police captain, Pierre Del Rio, to help her find the remaining three bags of the drugs
She stands in front of Jang’s members
With the help of Del Rio, Lucy recovers the drugs and moves to meet Professor Norman. She agrees to share everything she knows (all her knowledge) with him, after Professor Norman points out that the main point of life is to pass on knowledge.
Jang and his group also want the drug and a gunfight happens with the French police outside the lab which Lucy and Norman are in.
she is injected with the contents of all three bags of drugs
Her body begins to change into a black substance, spreading over computers and other objects in the lab
she transforms these into an unconventionally shaped, next generation Supercomputer that will contain all of her enhanced knowledge of the universe.
Mr. Jang enters and points a gun at Lucy’s head from behind, intending to kill her
He shoots, but in an instant before the bullet reaches to her, Lucy reaches 100% of her brain capacity and disappears within the space time continuum
where she explains that: “everything is connected and existence is only proven through time”.
Del Rio enters the lab and shoots Mr. Jang
Professor Norman takes a flash drive offered by the advanced supercomputer created by Lucy’s body.
Del Rio asks Professor Norman “Where is she?” immediately his cellphone sounds and he sees a text massage:
With an overhead shot, Lucy’s voice is heard stating:
“Life was given to us a billion years ago. Now you know what to do with it”.

There are many type of genres of movies nowadays like horror , drama, comedy and so
on.Science Fiction or most people nowadays named it ‘Sci-Fi’ is one of my favourite genres of
movies nowadays. Science Fiction is basically a genre dealing with imaginary content of our
future world such as time travel and extraterrestrial lives. With the technology of editing and
graphic designing in the 21st century , Sci-Fi movies are getting really interesting and
sometimes you even feels like the story in the movies is currently happening in our real world.
Marvels arguably the best sci-fi producing film company in the21st century. They have produced
many record breaking Sci-FI movies like the Avengers and X-men. My favourite Sci-Fi movie
until now is still the X-Men series. The two movies I will be comparing is X-men and The
Wolverine. The two specific characters that I will be comparing is between Charles Xavier from
the X-men series who mostly go by the name ‘Professor X’ which is play by both Patrick Stewart
and James McAvoy and Logan, The Wolverine who is played by Hugh Jackman. Professor X
and Logan both are amazing characters and kind hearted , but both of them have an unique
way of their of handling their problems.
Both professor X and Logan are mutants, which means that their genes are somehow mutated
which cause them to have what we call ‘superpowers’. The power that professor X was born
with is that he can read anybody's mind and even control them if he manage to control his
power properly. He was born with an extremely high IQ due to his powerful brain which also
make him a genius in science at a very young age. On the other hand, Logan contains a wolf’s
genes when he was born, he can extend 3 sharp claws out from his fist whenever he wants. At
first when they realize that they are mutants, they cannot control their own powers. Professor X
was using his wrongly when he was younger , he tends to get really bad headaches when he
was younger. Logan, on the other hand cannot control when he is able to extend the claws out
from his fist.
Professor X has a more calm and relaxed mind. He always prefer to settle his problems without
using his powers. He always talk first and try to convince people to use their powers properly
and doesn't harm anyone. He only uses his power when he needed to , like self defense and
stopping people from doing something stupid. One of the part that catches me the most is that
he always ask for permission before he reads anybody mind even though he can do it without
them knowing. Logan has a more aggressive character compare to professor X. He always fight
for justice , professor X will talk and convince to people to make them realize they are wrong but
Logan, he tend to always extend his claws and threaten people to make them not making their
mistakes again , and if they do not listen, he will hurt them or sometimes even killing them .
Both professor X and Logan do not know what happened to them or what they should do with
their powers. During their childhood, both of them suffered to grow up like a normal child. Logan
was always isolated from the society because the society cannot accept a mutant like him. He
then got really angry and upset about that and decided not to just not making friends, but more
and more enemies. He has a brother , Victor which is also a mutant like Logan , all those years
3. Victor and Logan grew up together and they have killed numerous amount of people throughout
the years they grew up. But one day he realizes that what he was doing was wrong so he left
Victor and decided not to fight or kill anymore innocent people. Charles Xavier had a different
way of growing up compared to Logan. When he was 9, he thought that he went crazy because
he start hearing voices and screams everyday but after that he realizes that those voices were
actually on other peoples head. He grew up listening to voices he doesn't want to hear , images
that he doesn't want to see. He always inject a hormone that was invented by his lab assistant,
Hank to temporary disable his powers just to be able to sleep and not hear anyones trouble.
Professor X and Logan both have strong but limited powers. Professor X has a limited distance
of mind he can read or image. He cannot read a person’s mind if you are few hundred miles
away from him. To actually use his power in a more effective way, Hank built a machine for him
which is named Cerebro. Cerebro is actually a machine where Professor X have to put this
helmet on and then Hank will turn on the machine and it will enhance the distance of his
telepath. The Cerebro is mostly used when Professor X is looking for other mutants. Logan was
born with claws made out of materials like our bone which means it is still breakable. He was
caught by a man called William Stryker who is a general that works in the U.S Military. Stryker
has always wanted to catch Logan and turn him into an indestructible machine that kills for
Stryker. He sent Victor to catch Logan and then brought him to the Military base and inject
Adamantium in to Logan which will turn all Logan’s bone into Adamantium. But right before he
can insert a chip into Logan’s brain, Logan manage to escape from the military base and after
that day Logan is known to be immortal because there is no element on Earth that can break
Adamantium.
In conclusion, both X-men and The Wolverine are really good movies. They both teaches us
how to fix our problems in a better way and not to give up easily in our way of struggling. I
personally prefer to watch X-men because it contains more interesting characters.
