Every year, we look for 40 additional amazing change-makers to join the pack”. • TED- Encourages innovative thinking change our world and offer more resources, innovators who have who have made big accomplishments can apply with their new idea of how to change the world.
- 3. TED- Encourages Seniors •Retired individuals can become members and are known as TEDX group. As these individuals bring years of experience and knowledge to the organization. • TED Talks – Views on Entertainment, Technology, War, News, Language , and much more. • #1 Goal is to make connections locally and across the world. • TEDX organizers join because they feel they offer more experience and insight to the community .

Youth • TED’s youthprogram is called TEDxYouth. • The events are offered frequently. • The events are readily available. • In order to host an event the host must: ▫ Obtain a license from TED ▫ Follow TEDx event rules ▫ Be 18 years old or have a co-organizer that is 18 or older. • The program’s goal is to inspire youth and help them gain knowledge.
- 6. Military Families andVeterans • No specific program for veterans and military families. • Not frequently offered or readily available • No participation requirements except a nominal fee. • Raise awareness and promote conversation.

Immigrants and Individualswith a Criminal Background • TED has a very limited out scope on in the immigrant and individuals with a criminal background specter. • TED acknowledges immigration but at this time has no system set in place to address the issues. • Research shows that TED, is open to immigration • As will most political subjects, TED is currently developing a plan to integrate immigration in its scope. • TED, allows some members the opportunity to tell their story.

- #3 A non-profit agency of your choice that offers community-based programs for adult learners “TEDx was created in the spirit of TED's mission, "ideas worth spreading." It supports independent organizers who want to create a TED-like event in their own community”. The use of combination of live presenters and TED Talks videos helps develop connections to the community both locally and across the world. The creativity in sharing ideas and opportunities with the whole world , “Our agenda is to make great ideas accessible and spark conversation”.
- #4 The organizer of TED Lincoln is known as Randy Bretz he is in his 70’s and thought differently about retirement and giving back to humanity. His experience long and successful career in radio production and large network of friends and colleagues in his community supported Randy and suggested he become and organizer for Lincoln, Nebraska. Randy , was already a viewer of TED Talks and was inspired to create and establish TED in his local community.
- #5 There are numerous related of real life stories and how thy have enhanced the world by sharing their personal experience and allowed for continuous research. In researching ways to improve lives of individuals with disabilities we can start by trying to change the way people see disabled people, not as dis-abled..... but abled with technology .
- #6 According to TED (2015), “youth events are one of our most creative TEDx event types, since they are organized by, or catered toward kids. As you might guess, these events are all about imagination and having fun. Because the TEDxYouth program is comprised of events that are organized by TED members, they take place as frequently as members will organize them. The learning opportunities offered by TEDxYouth are available to anyone who will look for them. They take place frequently and all across the US and the world. TEDxYouth also hosts a yearly comfrence called TEDYouth. “A TEDx youth event license follows the same format as the standard event licenseand fall within the same TEDx event rules, except this event is oriented towards youth. TEDxYouth licenses may be held by youth, adults, or a combination of both. For events held at schools, the license must be held by a current student, faculty or staff member. Applicants under the age of 18 must have an adult co-organizer listed on their application as a supervisor. For events held at schools, this could be a teacher” (TED, 2015).
- #7 TED does not have a specific program that caters to veterans and military families, but that does not mean they are not included in TED. Many of TED’s key speakers are veterans, current military servicemembers or spouses, or military family advocates. Also, several TEDx events that center around the military have been offered. The TEDx events focusing on the military are not frequently held or readily available. When given the events generally focus on military history, the ethics of military practices, leadership, etc. Generally, there are no requirements for participation at a TEDx event except to pay a small fee if required. The goal of TEDx events is to raise awareness and promote conversation about important topics.
- #8 TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design) is a global set of conferences run by the private non-profit Sapling Foundation, under the slogan "Ideas Worth Spreading" TED was founded in 1984 as a one-off event; the annual conference series began in 1990. TED's early emphasis was technology and design, consistent with its Silicon Valley origins, but it has since broadened its focus to include talks on many scientific, cultural, and academic topics. TED events are also held throughout North America and in Europe and Asia, offering live streaming of the talks. They address a wide range of topics within the research and practice of science and culture, often through storytelling. The speakers are given a maximum of 18 minutes to present their ideas in the most innovative and engaging ways they can.[11] Past speakers include Bill Clinton, Jane Goodall, Al Gore, Gordon Brown, Billy Graham, Richard Dawkins, Richard Stallman, Bill Gates, Bono, Mike Rowe, Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin, and many Nobel Prize winners. TED's current curator is the British former computer journalist and magazine publisher Chris Anderson. Since June 2006, the talks have been offered for free viewing online, under an Attribution-Non Commercial-No Derivs Creative Commons license, through TED.com. As of February 2015, over 1,900 talks are freely available on the website. In June 2011, the talks' combined viewing figure stood at more than 500 million,[18] and by November 2012, TED talks had been watched over one billion times worldwide. Not all TED talks are equally popular, however. Those given by academics tend to be watched more online, and art and design videos tend to be watched less than average
