met and introduce ourselves to a woman called Auntie Hawa who also happened
to be a food vender, She then led us to the leader Maa Peace and her two
deputies Mad. Akua Boatemaa and Mad. Marcy Acheampong.
• Our interaction with Maa Peace (AAMUSTED canteen Leader) Revealed that
she has worked there for about 26 years as water seller with diverse individuals
and groups but currently they are 13 in number occupying the canteen as food
venders, 12 selling in the morning and one selling in evening where they have
migrated from selling under trees to selling in building.
• The interaction further revealed Mr. Cletus Bondwire the University’s Estate
Manager has supervising all their activities and grievances has been channel
through him to the University authorities which we visited him for further
discussion late that morning.
BRIEF HISTORY AND PROFILE Conti…
• It was revealed that they go through medical examination for
certification before they are permitted to sell there and does some
on yearly bases.
• Through the interaction they were able to voice out their
problems and how they intend to address but because of time
this will be a point of discussion other time.
• On an observation walk through the canteen we noticed there are
