Siska Iskandar, a member of the GNOME Foundation, introduced openSUSE and GNOME to mothers and wives who are members of PKK (Family Counseling Development), a community organization that empowers women in Indonesia. She and the Linux Study Group at her university trained PKK members on openSUSE and GNOME through workshops. The training involved bringing members' devices, helping solve problems, introducing open source solutions as alternatives, and having fun while answering non-technical questions. The goal was to educate and empower women through free and open source software.
