We want to be that helping hand to get women off the streets and back into society. This program is designed to financially assist women during their first 2 weeks - 30 days of residency at Avenues 12. Every donated dollar will cover 100% of their cost until they become employed and self-sufficient.

Our purpose is to provide structured and stable environments for women recovering from the disease of addiction.
We set the highest standards of care to enable personal growth, a foundation of development for long term recovery, and
improving the quality of life while becoming a productive member of society.
The Community Assistance Program is designed to assist woman in our community that are in need of Avenues 12’s
substance abuse recovery program. We want to be that helping hand to get women off the streets and back into society.
This program is designed to financially assist women during their first 2 weeks - 30 days of residency at Avenues 12. Every
donated dollar will cover 100% of their cost until they become employed and self-sufficient.
This allows women the time they need to begin working a recovery program, get counseling services, employment, and
move towards their future goals in life. When they have become employed, they will cover their own expenses. This would
alleviate the stress from being in debt before they become independent. Our past history has shown us that these women
are so overwhelmed by the time they receive their first paycheck, they decide to leave before they can experience the joy of
a new life in recovery and the entire process starts over again. It becomes a vicious cycle for these women. We want to stop
the cycle and give a solution for these women to become productive members of society again.
We collaborate with a wide variety of external agencies to assist in our efforts, including, but not limited to: counseling
services, job placement, training programs, and various volunteer services to reinforce our program. Women have a safe,
structured, and sober environment in which to live. We teach women a new way of living. They start with simple changes to
their activities of daily living, such as cooking, cleaning, and a productive routine for life skills. Women begin job searching 24
hours after entry, Monday – Friday (9:00 am-3:00pm) until they become employed. 90% of the women who enter Avenues
12 are employed within the first 2 weeks - 30 days of entry. Avenues 12 requires women to fully participate in a 12 step
recovery program and to seek professional counseling. Women build a network with sober people, who are themselves,
productive members in the community.
FINANCIAL REQUEST FOR ASSISTANCE:
Housing Cost: $650.00 per month (all utilities and cable included in cost of housing)
Food Cost: $160.00 per month (all meals included)
Bus Pass: $65.00 per month (transportation to meetings and job interviews)
Misc./Sundries Expense: $80.00 per month (@$20.00 per week) - (personal hygiene items)
TOTAL MONTHLY COST: $955.00 per woman
Avenues 12 immediate goal is to assist with housing needs for a minimum of five (5) women per month who are considered
indigent. Our overall goals are to continue our successful recovery program for women and to redirect services towards
women’s advancement for long term recovery needs and their future aspirations. We continue to strengthen our
infrastructure to accommodate our new outreach program and remain consistently secure with our program criteria and
outcomes.
