Senior Independence is a nonprofit that provides home health and hospice care to help seniors stay at home. They rely on volunteers to offer companionship to patients, as well as spiritual support to patients and their families. Volunteering opportunities are available both for visiting patients and assisting in the office. No prior experience is required, as training will be provided, and the only requirement is a desire to help others.

5. Fulfilling life-enhancing wishes

8. No one should die alone.
Vigil Volunteers offer a quiet, comforting presence at
the bedside of dying patients. They also provide
comfort, reassurance and support to family
members at their time of need.

9. Volunteers can work alongside the hospice
chaplain and provide spiritual support to
patients and families in relation to issues of
grief, loss, and the dying process.

10. We need your help in the office, too!

11.  Volunteering helps you make new friends and
contacts and increases your social and relationship
skills.
 Volunteering increases self-confidence.
 Volunteering combats depression.
 Volunteering helps you stay physically healthy.
 Volunteering can provide career experience and
teach you valuable job skills

12.  No experience necessary!
 We provide training.
 Desire to help others is the only
requirement.
