A combined cycle power plant uses both a gas and a steam turbine together to produce up to 50% more electricity from the same fuel than a traditional simple gas turbine plant. It works by first burning fuel in a gas turbine which powers a generator. Then, the heat from the gas turbine is used to produce steam to power a steam turbine. This captures more of the energy from the fuel to generate electricity more efficiently.

compensate the reactive power. This paper proposes an
advanced technique of PWM to generate the gating pulses
and applied to a Cascaded H-Bridge multilevel inverter to
improve the voltage quality. Here, the entire system is designed
to meet the load of Mogulthur (W.G.Dt. Andhra Pradesh).
Simulation results are presented through Matlab/Simulink
by taking different cases into consideration.

The photovoltaic (PV) generation is increasingly popular nowadays, while typical loads require more high-power quality. Basically, one PV generator supplying to nonlinear loads is desired to be integrated with a function as an active power filter (APF). In this paper, a three-phase three-wire system, including a detailed PV generator, dc/dc boost converter to extract maximum radiation power using maximum power point tracking, and dc/ac voltage source converter to act as an APF, is presented. The instantaneous power theory is applied to design the PV-APF controller, which shows reliable performances. The MATLAB/Simpower Systems tool has proved that the combined system can simultaneously inject maximum power from a PV unit and compensate the harmonic current drawn by nonlinear loads.

individual renewable sources will not be satisfy the demand at all times. So by integration of a multiple
renewable sources such as wind and solar a huge amount of power will be produced. These power will be
coordinated to the ac grid or directly to dc consumers. For integration of renewable sources an aggregated model
has to be proposed. In according to these operation BESS (battery energy storage system)is equipped with the
system for maintaining the power balance. For obtaining the power balance the adaptive droop control technique
has to be proposed and droop curves are evaluated. The droop characteristics are selected on the basis of the
deviation between the optimized and real-time SOC of the BESS. In these paper, the operational analysis can be
performed when real time soc is higher than the optimised soc and droop curves are plotted.

Simulation of MPPT Algorithm Based Hybrid Wind-Solar-Fuel Cell Energy System
This paper presents a new system configuration of the front-end rectifier stage for a hybrid
wind/photovoltaic energy system. This configuration allows the two sources to supply the load
separately or simultaneously depending on the availability of the energy sources. The inherent nature of
this Cuk-SEPIC fused converter, additional input filters are not necessary to filter out high frequency
harmonics. Harmonic content is detrimental for the generator lifespan, heating issues, and efficiency.
The fused multiinput rectifier stage also allows Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) to be used to
extract maximum power from the wind and sun when it is available. An adaptive MPPT algorithm will
be used for the wind system and a standard perturb and observe method will be used for the PV system.
Operational analysis of the proposed system will be discussed in this paper. Simulation results are given
to highlight the merits of the proposed circuit.

This is a significant step towards realizing a modular power conversion system architecture, where smaller units can be connected in any series/parallel grouping to realize any required unit specifications. The supercapacitor (SC) as a complementary source is used to compensate for the slow transient response of the fuel cell (FC) as a main power source. It assists the Fe to meet the grid power demand in order to achieve a better performance and dynamic behavior. Reliable control of the proposed MHGS with multiple units is also a challenging issue. In this paper, a simple control method to achieve active sharing of load current among MHGS modules is proposed. The simulation results verify the performance of the proposed structure and control scheme.

Currently, 84% of electricity is generated through diesel and 16% through renewable energy such as solar. Tonga Power has implemented several solar power plants totaling 4.9 MW currently but needs additional 11.1 MW of renewable capacity to meet its 50% target. This paper depicts a new configuration for modular hybrid power conversion systems, namely, multi-hybrid generation system (MHGS), and parallel connection at the output, such that the converter of each unit shares the load current equally. This is a significant step towards realizing a modular power conversion system architecture, where smaller units can be connected in any series/parallel grouping to realize any required unit specifications. The supercapacitor (SC) as a complementary source is used to compensate for the slow transient response of the fuel cell (FC) as a main power source. It assists the Fe to meet the grid power demand in order to achieve a better performance and dynamic behavior. Reliable control of the proposed MHGS with multiple units is also a challenging issue. In this paper, a simple control method to achieve active sharing of load current among MHGS modules is proposed. The simulation results verify the performance of the proposed structure and control scheme.

Tonga Power Limited generates electricity for over 22,000 customers across four island groups in Tonga. Currently, 84% of electricity is generated through diesel and 16% through renewable energy such as solar. Tonga aims to generate 50% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2020 to reduce dependence on imported diesel. Tonga Power has implemented several solar power plants totaling 4.9 MW currently but needs additional 11.1 MW of renewable capacity to meet its 50% target. Integrating high levels of solar power presents challenges in maintaining grid stability without sufficient battery storage.

From Natural Language to Structured Solr Queries using LLMs
This talk draws on experimentation to enable AI applications with Solr. One important use case is to use AI for better accessibility and discoverability of the data: while User eXperience techniques, lexical search improvements, and data harmonization can take organizations to a good level of accessibility, a structural (or “cognitive” gap) remains between the data user needs and the data producer constraints.
That is where AI – and most importantly, Natural Language Processing and Large Language Model techniques – could make a difference. This natural language, conversational engine could facilitate access and usage of the data leveraging the semantics of any data source.
The objective of the presentation is to propose a technical approach and a way forward to achieve this goal.
The key concept is to enable users to express their search queries in natural language, which the LLM then enriches, interprets, and translates into structured queries based on the Solr index’s metadata.
This approach leverages the LLM’s ability to understand the nuances of natural language and the structure of documents within Apache Solr.
The LLM acts as an intermediary agent, offering a transparent experience to users automatically and potentially uncovering relevant documents that conventional search methods might overlook. The presentation will include the results of this experimental work, lessons learned, best practices, and the scope of future work that should improve the approach and make it production-ready.
