This document discusses the development of social networking sites (SNS). It begins with early computer-mediated communication systems like USENET and bulletin board systems that allowed users to interact online. Popular early online services then provided chat features and communities. IRC, ICQ and instant messaging further enabled real-time communication. Early social networks included forums, SixDegrees, and LiveJournal. Major advances were sites like Friendster, Myspace, LinkedIn and Facebook that supported user profiles and connections between friends. Features like photo sharing on Flickr and video sharing on YouTube also grew popular. Twitter and Tumblr enabled real-time updates. Facebook expanded from colleges globally and added features like News Feed, video calling and apps over time.
Health insurance provides coverage against medical expenses for illnesses or injuries. It is an agreement between an insurance provider and an individual or their sponsor. The coverage can be for a set time period or lifelong. It specifies what health care costs will be covered. Health insurance first emerged in the late 19th century and became formalized in 1912 with the first Insurance Act. However, only 3-5% of Indians have health insurance coverage today. Out-of-pocket medical expenses from conditions like heart disease or cancer could be financially devastating for most Indians without insurance.
This document discusses the history and development of social networking sites (SNS). It begins with defining SNS as internet-based platforms that allow users to create profiles and connect with other users. The document then outlines some of the earliest precursors to modern SNS, such as Usenet systems, Bulletin Board Systems, and early online services like CompuServe and AOL. It traces the evolution of instant messaging and early social networks like forums, SixDegrees, and LiveJournal. The document highlights major advances including Friendster, Myspace, LinkedIn, and Facebook. It also covers media sharing sites like Flickr and YouTube, as well as real-time updates on Twitter and Tumblr. The document concludes with details on

Modernism is a literary and cultural movement that flourished in the early 20th century marked by experimentation with form and a realization that knowledge is not absolute. The passage discusses quotes from A Passage to India that relate to modernism, showing characters like Mrs. Moore and Adela embracing new possibilities by looking past cultural differences and social norms to experience real Indian culture and form friendships. Their openness to change represents the sense of cultural crisis and exploration of new ideas that defined the modernist movement.

1) The document discusses various ligaments and structures involved in elbow stability, including the lateral and medial ligamentous complexes.
2) It describes the biomechanics of acute elbow dislocations and different types of elbow instabilities such as posterolateral rotatory instability.
3) Clinical evaluation for elbow instability involves various tests like the lateral pivot shift test and management includes repairing injured ligaments, reconstructing chronic injuries, and addressing any bone deficiencies through procedures like radial head replacement.
The document discusses different manners of articulation for English consonants. It describes stops as sounds involving complete closure of the oral cavity, while continuants allow continuous air flow. Continuants include fricatives and approximants. Sounds are also classified as sonorants, which involve continuous airflow, versus obstruents, which cause airflow obstruction and turbulence. The document outlines a system for distinguishing consonants based on whether they are continuants or stops, and whether they are sonorants or obstruents.
Class phonetics and phonology - phonemeZahra Azlan
This document discusses the fields of phonetics and phonology. Phonetics deals with the physical properties of speech sounds, while phonology deals with how sounds are organized into systems and patterns within languages. It provides examples of how different languages, like English, Korean, and Bangla, distinguish words using different realizations of the same sounds. Native speakers have unconscious knowledge of the phonological rules of their language that allow them to distinguish words.
Dokumen tersebut membahas pentingnya melestarikan lingkungan hidup dengan cara menanam pohon, mendaur ulang sampah organik dan nonorganik, serta mengajak orang lain untuk peduli terhadap lingkungan.
The Development of Learning and Teaching GrammarZahra Azlan
This document discusses the history and approaches to grammar teaching. It begins with definitions of grammar and explores its historical teaching from ancient times through the 19th century. Approaches like traditional, communicative, and post-communicative language teaching are summarized. The use of computer-assisted language learning for grammar is outlined, noting studies have found it can be more effective than traditional instruction. Examples of CALL applications and software for teaching grammar are provided.
The document discusses several phonological processes involved in connected speech: vowel reduction, where unstressed vowels are reduced to schwas; consonant assimilation, where consonants become more similar to adjacent sounds; consonant lenition, where consonants are weakened; and elision, where sounds are omitted. These processes help streamline rapid, casual speech for ease of articulation.

Observability Concepts EVERY Developer Should Know -- DeveloperWeek Europe.pdfPaige Cruz
Monitoring and observability aren’t traditionally found in software curriculums and many of us cobble this knowledge together from whatever vendor or ecosystem we were first introduced to and whatever is a part of your current company’s observability stack.
While the dev and ops silo continues to crumble….many organizations still relegate monitoring & observability as the purview of ops, infra and SRE teams. This is a mistake - achieving a highly observable system requires collaboration up and down the stack.
I, a former op, would like to extend an invitation to all application developers to join the observability party will share these foundational concepts to build on:

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.
Gopinath Rebala
Gopinath Rebala is the CTO of OpsMx, where he has overall responsibility for the machine learning and data processing architectures for Secure Software Delivery. Gopi also has a strong connection with our customers, leading design and architecture for strategic implementations. Gopi is a frequent speaker and well-known leader in continuous delivery and integrating security into software delivery.
