- 1. Coefficient of Friction Confirms to TAPPI T-549 and ASTM D-1894 Coefficient of Friction (COF) Tester (Static + Dynamic Friction) When plastic films run on production lines, they come in contact with various parts like Metal Rollers, Hoppers, Chutes, Conveyors, etc. And every time there is a contact, there is also friction. Friction is good. It keeps things moving. Low or high friction is bad as it can lead to undesirable results. High Fiction can cause scuffing of the film surface, it can lead to film stretching or breaking. It can also lead to mis-registration while sealing and cutting on FFS operations. High friction can cause jamming in chutes. Low Friction can cause a product to fall off conveyors too. Coefficient of Friction Tester (COF) is an equipment to test the Static and Dynamic Coefficient of Friction of Paper, Paper Board, Plastic Films, Laminates, etc. Automatically measures both Static COF and Dynamic COF values in a single test cycle. The test can be performed in the following configuration : - Paper vs Paper / Metal / Glass - Film vs Film / Metal / Glass
