This document outlines the code of conduct for students participating in an educational trip to Amsterdam in February 2017. The 3 main points are: 1) Students must follow the provided itinerary, carry a charged phone at all times with group leaders' contacts, and stay in groups of at least 3 people. 2) When staying at the Meininger Hotel, students may not smoke anywhere in the building, bring alcohol, or use illegal drugs like marijuana. They must also respect other guests by keeping noise down after lights out. 3) Students are representing their college on the trip and must behave respectfully towards staff, other users of the hotel, and act as ambassadors for the college. Any violations could result in serious disciplinary

The purpose of our visit to Amsterdam is to see great Art and Media practice- and also a
fantastic city- first hand, recording images and ideas that will be useful for the Externally Set
Assignments and Course work for your A level courses. It is also of course to be together
socially and have a good time!
In order to do that it is important to set out some very straightforward ground rules, and for
you to accept that these form the basis of your participation in the trip.
• Carry a copyof the itineraryandlistento allinstructions concerningvisits;it is your responsibilityto know
where you are supposedto be at what time.
• Carry a (charged) mobile phone that is Europe-readyandnot in ‘flight mode’, at all times sothat you can
be contacted, andhave the group leaders’ numbers installed onthe phone.
• Do not wander offon your own. Always be ina groupof three- minimum- it is not permittedto meet
people that you have made friends with online. Donot leave the vicinity of the gallery/visit unlessthis is a
specificallyagreed part of the visit. Take care crossing the roadandbe aware that traffic will approach
from a different side inAmsterdam-there will alsobe trams and cyclist will have right-of-wayover
pedestrians– this includes courier cyclists who can be unpredictable andpotentiallydangerous.
• Abide bythe rulesof the Meininger Hotel:
• The Meininger Hotelis a completelynon-smoking building, so there is to be nosmoking in bedrooms, the
socialareasor the cafeteria.
• No alcohol is to be brought intothe centre. Anyuse ofillegal drugs (including marijuana) will result in
your expulsion fromCityCollege.
• After ‘lights out’ (probably12.00pm) do not move about inthe corridors. Respect the right of other users
of the hotel to sleep undisturbed.
• Show respect to each other, the staff and other users of the Meininger Hotel.
• Whilst on residential visits you are acting as ambassadors for the college and shouldbehave withthisin
mind. Anyactions that coulddamage the reputation ofthe college andthe goodrelationships that we have with
travel companies-thus jeopardising future trips-couldresult inserious disciplinaryactionor your immediate
removal fromallCCN courses.
