Sericulture is the cultivation of silk through silkworm rearing. There are two main types of cocoon markets - seed cocoon markets and commercial cocoon markets. Seed cocoon markets take place in grainages where hybrid seeds are produced. Highly trained rearers produce pure breed cocoons called P1 cocoons.
