CMMI® Maturity Level 3 Appraised
MEMORANDUM
TO: All Staff DATE: September 11, 2012
FROM: Mark D. Lee
Chief Executive Officer
SUBJECT: CMMI Appraisal Announcement
It is time for GLOTECH to illustrate that it operates as a CMMI Maturity Level 3-appraised
company. From October 3 – 12, 2012 a team of experienced and trained GLOTECH personnel
will perform a Standard CMMI Appraisal Method for Process Improvement (SCAMPI)
appraisal, in the Services model. The team of Rob Camper, Ryan VandeMark, Quentin Sligh,
Heather Gent, Lars Travis, and Julie Stadig will be reviewing policies, procedures, records and
plans to confirm that GLOTECH is providing the best possible service to customers. GLOTECH
was originally appraised in 2009, using the Development model. Since then, the Services option
has been developed by the Software Engineering Institute (SEI), and the definition works well
with GLOTECH’s portfolio.
The work being appraised includes the NICHD, GLOTECH Consolidated, HITSS, and ITOC
projects. The team members have already prepared objective evidence consisting of qualitative
and quantitative information, records, and statements of fact pertaining to the characteristics of a
service or to the existence and implementation of a process element. During the interview
period of Oct 3 - 12, the appraisal team will verify and validate the objective evidence provided
to identify strengths and weaknesses relative to the CMMI Services model. The information-
processing engine is thus fueled by the objective evidence already available, and is validated
through the interviewing process.
By maintaining CMMI Maturity Level 3, GLOTECH remains competitive in the new business
market, and leverages incentive to practice more rigorous continuous improvement. The results
of continuous improvement often trickle down to the employees by way of improved
communications, updated procedures and documentation, and new technology. Thank you all
for your cooperation during this appraisal.
