The expansion of mathematical reasoning has become the hallmark of recent developments in the social sciences. Following economists and other applied researchers, political scientists began to adopt the tools of game theory and inferential statistics to study politics. With the growing body of quantitative literature, more and more attention is now drawn to political methodology. The qualitative consistency of formal research programs, however, continues to remain in question. We will discuss some of the methodological advances in the fields of comparative politics and political economy as well as focus on the scientific method’s limitations.
The seminar was held on Friday, March 20, 2015 in Moscow.
The BCIM (Bangladesh, China, India and Myanmar) corridor is perceived to have a potential to generate substantive economic benefits in the area of trade, investment, energy, transport and tourism.
