The Clubhouse project in Suzhou, China is designed as both a vacation home for the owner and a resort for guests. The design is inspired by traditional Chinese courtyard homes, with the program organized into three large central courtyards for social and semi-private use. Residential spaces are located on the second level to separate owner and guest quarters, while amenities are on the main floor to create a resort atmosphere. A cubist compositional method was used to create a series of smaller roofs at varying heights for a more organic look compared to conventional designs.
