The newsletter provides information for the 2013 Renault UK Clio Cup Championship. Registration is now open and forms must be fully completed and signed with payment by March 14th. Testing will take place on March 21st and 24th. Driver weights will be a minimum of 1,160kg including driver and ballast. Teams must use the specified Dunlop tire sizes and have an allocation of 48 tires plus 4 free wet tires.

2013 Championship Registration
Registrations are now open for the 2013 Renault UK Clio Cup. Please note registration forms will only be
accepted if they are fully completed and signed in original ink by both the Entrant and Driver,
Parent/Guardian where necessary and accompanied with the full registration fee. The registration fee
MUST be paid by the Entrant. An Entrant is defined as a Clio Cup 3 UK car owner. Please note we will not
accept fax or email copies.
Championship registration forms are enclosed with this newsletter and are also available via the Renault
Sport UK competitor’s website: www.renaultsport.co.uk/internalnews/

The Championship Registration Fee is £12,950 (plus VAT at the applicable rate). For Registrations
received on or before 14th March 2013 the fee will be discounted by £950 (plus VAT at the applicable rate).
Registrations will close on Thursday 14th March, 2013. On this day, completed registration, vehicle and
medical forms with full payment must be lodged with us at the Championship Office:

Please note that an Entrant can only make a driver change after completion of the first race meeting,
therefore the driver you register must take part in rounds 1&2 at Brands Hatch, 30th /31st March.
No refunds of any part will be given for missed races or tests. Only in the case of an Entrant withdrawing
from the championship by giving notice in writing to the Championship Manager and returning all BTCC
neck passes will any refund be considered.
Additional Test Day
An additional test day has been scheduled on Wednesday, 24th April at Snetterton 300 circuit. The day will
be shared with Clio Cup Series and Formula Renault teams/drivers.
The cost per car is £400 + vat. (total payable per car £480). Full details to follow.
Driver Race Suit
This year drivers will be allowed to wear their own race suit and use the majority of the suit for their own
sponsors. A decal plan will be provided shortly as there will be designated ‘red zones’ for championship
decals/sponsors which must be adhered to.

2. Driver Weight
Following the feedback from teams and discussions amongst the organiser, the following wording will now
be inserted into the 2013 Technical Regulations:
5.15.1. The principle is to equalise the performance of the car and Driver combination. The minimum
car/Driver weights at the completion of every free practice, qualifying session and race must be in
accordance with Regulation 5.15.2 and 5.12.3.
5.15.2 Prior to the first on-track activity of the season in which the vehicle / competitor is entered the
Driver will be weighed. For the 2013 season a specific allowance of 100kg will be made for the
Driver weight unless this is subsequently amended by an Official Championship Bulletin. Where
the driver weight is below the specified allowance the difference involved must be carried as
ballast within the vehicle at all times.
5.15.3. The minimum weights will be as follows:
(i) Minimum weight of car and Driver: 1,160kg.
(ii) Minimum weight of car minus Driver: 1,060kg plus any difference calculated in 5.15.2 above
The minimum weight is ‘in the condition in which the car and Driver (wearing his complete racing
apparel) are presented at any other time during an Event and without the addition or removal of
any solid or fluid matter including fuel. For the purpose of the Regulation, an Event is deemed to
include any transfer to a place of post-qualifying or post-race scrutiny as directed by an Official.
Championship Media Day
The Media Day is included in the registration fee and will take place at Silverstone National circuit on
Thursday 21st March. Clio Cup Series cars/drivers will be invited to participate. The day will be scheduled in
sessions with Formula Renault and precise details will be issued to all teams /drivers nearer the time.
We expect all drivers taking part in the opening race at Brands Hatch to be registered by the Media Day
and will only allow latecomers to register under special circumstances to preserve the spirit of the testing
controls. Testing control for registered drivers commence midnight on Wednesday 20th March.
Team Meeting
A second team meeting will be held in February. Invites will be issued to all teams with full details shortly.

In 2013 the tyre allocation will be 48 tyres. Dunlop will give each registered driver 4 x wets free of charge as
a welcome gift. Mr Tyre Motorsport is also offering the option to teams of having their Dunlop Race tyres
fitted (by appointment) at its Hockley base for winter/spring testing.
