There are five main climate types in Spain: Mediterranean, Atlantic, Continental, Subtropical, and Mountain. The Mediterranean climate is typical along coastal areas with mild, wet winters and hot, dry summers. Inland areas have a more Continental climate with colder winters and hotter, drier summers. The Atlantic climate on the northern coast brings abundant rainfall and cooler temperatures. Subtropical climates in the Canary Islands are mild year-round. Mountain areas see heavy snowfall in very cold winters and mild summers.

Winters are cold.

5. Atlantic (Oceánico)
-On the Cantabrian coast and in Galicia.
-Temperature: Summers are cold.
Winters are mild.
-Rainfall is abundant.
-Flora: Many forests and meadows.
-Fauna: Foxes, wolves, wild boars, and deers.

6. Subtropical climate
-In the Canary Islands.
-Temperatures are mild all year.
-Rainfall is low.
-Flora: Dragon trees and tabaiba spurge.
-Fauna: Giant lizards and canaries.

7. Mountain climate
-In the highest mountain areas.
-Temperatures: Winters are very cold.
Summers are mild.
-Rainfall: It rains and snows a lot.
-Flora: Meadows and forests with fir trees.
-Fauna: Vultures and goats.
