2 Corinthians 7:1 teaches that Christians must pursue holiness through cleansing themselves of all defilement of the flesh and spirit. Some aspects of maintaining spiritual cleanliness include keeping pure hands, having a clean heart, maintaining a clear conscience, adopting clean habits, speaking with a clean mouth, and undergoing the cleansing act of baptism.
