1. Mr. Frost’s Procedures
1. Don’t Bring List
- No backpacks. No MP3 players, cell phones, cards, or games in sight. I will provide
music, whether you like it or not.
2. Tardy Policy- as outlined in the handbook.
3. Extra Credit
- Anyone who brings a box of Kleenex will receive 3 extra credit points.
4. Materials
- Bring your book.
- Bring something to write with.
- Bring something to write on.
5. Homework
- I rarely assign homework. There are two exceptions to this: if you do not finish your
assignment because you were not on task, and if we have a project assignment there will
need to be work done outside of class.
6. Passes
- I will not institute a pass policy unless it becomes necessary. I feel you are old enough to
decide when you need to leave the room. However, you must ASK me at an appropriate
time. We will take breaks as a class sometimes as well.
7. Late Work
- All late work must be turned in to the basket by my computer and may not be graded until
the end of the grade period is near.
- If you miss class for any reason you are responsible for getting what you missed. Come
talk to me at an appropriate time.
8. Participation Points
- Each quarter you will start with 100 participation points, you will keep these points by
doing the following:
1. staying on task during work time.
2. listening when I am speaking.
3. finishing daily writing assignments.
4. actively participating in class discussion.
5. keeping your area clean.
6. actively participating in current events on Wednesday.
9. Writing Assignments
- We will have writing assignments that do not come from the book sometimes. These will
vary from reading short quotes to excerpts from authors about a variety of issues and
writing about them. I will ask for well thought out and meaningful responses. As my
idea of well thought out and meaningful may differ from yours, I will make my
expectations more clear when the time comes.
10. Project Guidelines
- Although the specific requirements will vary from project to project there are a few
things that I will be paying attention to in all assigned projects.
1. group participation.
2. use of class time.
3. attention to detail.
2. 11. Be good to people and you and I will get along very well.
